Gender Locked Items (Lightning Edition)

So the only way to get the opposite gender's gears is to create a new character, level it up to level 12 and re-do the quests? I was at one point considering to use the Fantasia. Problem is that I only had one Fantasia, and I wanted to revert back to my male character once I've gotten Lightning's gears.

45 actually. The chest clothing quest is level 45 but can be worn at like, 15 I think.

Personally, I think they should have just made the event doable at 2 levels. Level 15 for easy mode, and level 45 if you like a challenge. I'm leveling a female alt all the way to 45 just for Lightning's gear ugh. She's like 26 now. Hope I can get her to 45 before the event ends.

Oh yeah, I had completely forgotten that I need to to level it up to level 45 for the last quest. In that case, I think I'll skip on the Lightning gears then. D:

Really wish they'd let us get both sets of gears. Hopefully, they'll be more mindful of this kind of situation for future events.

Yeah, I'm doing the same. I've been ignoring both my male characters for quite a while since I don't care as much about Snow's outfit. I've only got a couple levels left to go with Dylise (my female character) before she can do all the Lightning quests. But racing her through forty-five levels just so I can get some good level 13 gear is definitely not the way I'd have chosen to play the game.

(I at least stopped the story progression at 20 as soon as she could get her chocobo, and stopped other quests even earlier, so that I won't have totally ruined the rest of the game by racing through it. I'll be able to do that at a proper pace later where I can really explore everything. I'll just have to do it with a different class, since I had to race through her arcanist/scholar progression that I'd originally intended to be her main class.)

Seems odd that they'd make the level requirement so high for promotional gear, level 13 would've been more than suitable seeing as some people who (especially with the steam release) might want to pace themselves.

That's what I've thought, too, but apparently a lot of people on this forum seem to think that promo gear should be something you WORK SUPER HARD FOR RAWR!

Let's stick it all in a FATE! [2013/14] moto.

Hopefully in the future they find a better balance between fates/quests and maybe some new concepts. FATEs are okay, the Christmas one was rather clever actually but using them for every event and every part OF the event is annoying.

Theres also the fact that females can get some male hairstyle but not vice versa.

Design wise, no problem. However I don't see them adding the Female Roe Skrillex hair to male characters any-time soon. (Who knows though, stranger things have happened!)
