They need to somehow make the Lightning Returns gear available again just in general. Redo the event or something. I played my butt off as much as I could given my play schedule (I missed the event the first pass) and only got my character to level 36 before the event was over.

It would seem that even though I have a male character I am also able to purchase the female version of the items.
So the possibility of the addition for the Lighting Returns Gear-set(s) and weapons is seemingly reasonable.

Proof:

Hopefully in the future it can be obtained for those who have done it.
However obtaining items for events you never participated in might not be seen as too favourable.
(Who knows they may repeat it in the future, however that is an unlikely scenario)

I really want se to look into this. I accidentally bought the black bikini set for males and the event doesn't offer black and I really want my swimsuit ; ;. Ive Gm reported they don't even offer me the swap for my one time only.. Not saying I didn't mess up but people still have vials to change and imo it's a valid concern

You can actually get this now. Go to the Calamity Salvager in any-main city and check if it's available, as it seems all seasonal gear is available except for the 1.23 items and the Lightning Returns Event items (for now).

(If you mean the black Cascadier Token this may work differently)

I just wanted to let you know that the team is planning to implement an NPC in patch 2.3 that will allow you to swap gender-specific gear!

The Calamity Salvager NPC has been changed as follows:

Gear introduced during the Hatching Tide seasonal event is now available for purchase.
Gender-specific gear introduced during seasonal and collaboration events can now be exchanged for gear of the opposite gender.

Can finally change between Lightning/Snow outfits!

Yup, they confirmed this a while back.

Very glad they've confirmed it's in 2.3 now.
