Not complaining about shitty design choices and demanding bugs and oversights to be fixed is a good way to let your favored developer become stagnant because there's no pressure at all to improve. Which is fine if you are a White Knight who loves to lick the sweat out of the devs socks, I guess.

It's a request. There's a huge difference. I'm not demanding, I've asked and they said they'll do it if there's enough support.

Stick to one gender, enjoy the game and the gear you get for it.

I do enjoy the game, but the game offered 2x Phials of Fantasia for free, rendering your point completely moot, therefore leading to the obvious point of why they should offer a way to exchange items are are gender locked considering they all have an opposite counter-part, it only makes sense.

It's value and worth as an in-game item is subjective to each person. It might not matter to you, but a lot of us enjoy the event items, even just for vanity purposes, seeing as that some of these are unique event items that won't be available soon it'd be a shame to have them go to waste simply because you used what you were given.

The devs shouldn't have to cater to you filp floppers every time a new event comes out and you feel the need to switch your character all around to wear gear that doesn't even matter.

You're right, they don't have to do anything, no-one is forcing them to do anything this is a request, and they said they'll do it. So that point is moot too.

I didn't whine, I requested and they answered 'Yes if enough people want it'.

It's worth pointing out that there is apparently a male version of the Lightning outfit in FFXIII (someone linked it earlier in this very thread, IIRC), so they already have those assets.

Yup! There's a male character in-game who has a Guardian Corps outfit, however sadly no counter part for Snows Bohemian get-up.

These are (an example not exact) the teams that Square Enix split their development into. You won't have the entire XIV development team only working on one thing at a time, or nothing would ever get done.

The freckles for the aesthetician, dimension blade furniture, retainer inventory expansion are all part of the 'minor fix/adjustments team'.

The original model was essentially 'ported' you could say, over to the XIV engine. Only a slight mesh deformation to fit the varying male body shapes was possible in the time that they had.

To make the snow outfit for female character it'd require a fair bit of work, the same for the lightning outfit for men, for the sake of development time they had to just keep it Male/Female as it was originally intended.

They managed to adjust them all the way from Lalafell to Roegadyn. Male/Female differences are trivial compared to that.

You'd think so, but sadly not.

Adjusting gear to fit a lalafell Roegadyn is already a task of its own never mind having to do the same again for the females once a new version of the model is made.

If the assets didn't take so long to produce from scratch it'd be feasible, but in this case it'd take a fair bit of work to make it happen.
