Just want to +1 the idea of duel-gender gear for special events like this.
It's not like males can't wear Guardian Corp gear, even Lightning's commanding officer wore a variant of it:
Not sure how you'd want the females wearing Snow's coat though

I agree. Both outfits could easily be worked as male and female clothing. The gender-lock thing is really annoying.
I don't know what SOLDIER outfits are, but yes. This, precisely.
I feel like I should inform you that this event will be repeated when lightning returns comes out in the US- so if you change genders before then, you'll be able to obtain the other set.
I'm kinda scratching my head at how you changed genders once and already want to do it again. Why can't you settle one one or the other?
Well, I was very happy with my male highlander.I feel like I should inform you that this event will be repeated when lightning returns comes out in the US- so if you change genders before then, you'll be able to obtain the other set.

Then one night when I was drinking rather heavily, Square Enix sent another Fantasia to my mog-mail, with a loud DING.
As the night progressed, I somewhere along the line apparently thought i'd change into a cat, which at the time must've been great fun for, because I woke up the next day to a female Miqo'te on the log in screen and I've had to deal with it since.
But I've seen nothing that suggest the quest will be repeated, just the FATE's.
If the quest would be re-triggered then surely people would end up with two sets of gear (the same problem with the AF quests).
Of course the quests will be repeated. They're not going to have another event and not let people participate in it. I know we like to rag on square enix but give them a little credit.The event will be repeated, but unless they make the quests repeatable

or those variables may get reset after the event is over. THere's many different and relatively simple ways to handle this. Besides the fact that I've played many games with event quests that come back every time the event comes back.
Repeating the event on the other gender would be a lot simpler than creating an exchange system. It may even be such that there are actually seperate quests with seperate rewards by gender (which could be tested by using a fantasia after having completed the quests)

This has happened before, it'll do a simple script check
//if the input fields are equal to database values, no need to update and waste resources,hence, do nothing:
if ( (shioban_mooney = 1) //where 1 is complete 0 is incomplete
{
//do nothing
}
//If, however, (they are NOT equal and) input fields are not empty:
elseif (shioban_mooney = 0)
{
//do something.
}
They even stated that 'quests cannot be completed when the event has ended', meaning if you don't finish it now, you'd have to wait until February to complete it.
The gear quest is a one time thing, technically you can wait and do the gear quest until then but it will NOT repeat it.
Square Enix won't repeat a quest that drops event gear.
As for the AF comment, that was me referring to having 'two sets of an item', not the gender locking scenario, where-in if you already had AF from 1.0, but it wasn't in your inventory/armory chest at the time, it would give you a second (un-discarable) item.

iirc the vendor only sells the weapons, not the clothing, so that wouldn't help any.
either way this is plenty annoying and I fail to see how SE didn't think of the possibility that the vast majority would probably want to at least have the option to use both sets (or even combine them. like everything from lightning, but snow's coat)
