This is the best damn post on the board, and guess what, Yoshi won't care... because he made money and Tanaka didn't... and it really is as simple as that. -.-

I'll miss FFXIV honestly. Hell I miss the Final Fantasy series as a whole. They're so busy trying to celebrate the past through nostalgia, they've forgotten why it was nostalgic in the first place.

The second part I quoted I could not agree with more. Too much fanservice, to little innovation.

I don't think they were looking to turn FFXIV 1.0 around into something totally innovative. It doesn't seem like they were willing to take that chance, with what was riding on 2.0's success.

I'm willing to give Yoshi-P some time, the game is relatively new. But there are somes things that there are just no turning back from. Including the OP's statement on cramped environments, lack of immersion, and a game that's content 1-49 is pointless dribble.

So many views on this thread.. I wonder if anyone on the dev team has looked at it...

They probably have and they probably won't respond because despite that long preamble you had in your original post about the concept of opinion, everything you posted was still just your opinion. Just as every single response in this thread (including my post) is also just an opinion. And if you don't agree with me, that only makes sense since that's the whole dictionary definition of opinion: a personal judgment that is not necessary based on facts or positive evidence (and therefore debatable).

That's not to say your observations are bad, but as far as whether it is "right" or "wrong", that's a decision for the community - and ultimately SE - to make.

For the record, I don't think you're wrong. I actually support most of your points, and eventually SE will start to respond to the community's demands. Just remember to always try to see things from their perspective: with games like this, there is no way to please everyone. No matter what you do to the game from this point forward, you will upset one part of the community or another. So every change needs to be calculated and designed to produce the best outcome for as many people as possible, and that may not always be what you or I or even the majority of the forum users here want.

@Rekujen -Amazing the few people that love this game have so much time just to wander into a thread like this to complain that they read so many posts and complain about it. One thing is correct everything is a opinion and people don't have to quit or move on to a different game to express that opinion. Everyone that has paid for this game has right to express how they feel right or wrong. The white knights of the game think they are the majority and the ones that complain/gripe are the minority lol. Hello.... the devs don't care what you think or your "opinion" is either. They are going to do whatever they feel like doing.

I love this game and after playing countless mmo's I've finally hit my gold mine of mmo's. Love everything about it, the music, graphical style, gorgous backdrops, freaking chocobos and moogles!, combat, hell I even like DF, sometimes you run into an awesome group and when you finish something it's like hell yeah peeps! high fives all around. Not to mention when front lines comes out...' drool.'
