    Wow, are they going to fix Archer so I can equip a dagger/axe and a bow at the same time?

    You say that like it's currently broke. I play ARC because I like ranged attacking. If I want to be hacking at the mob up close with an axe I'll go play Marauder.

    We don't want to be up close to a mob to auto attack!

    This current system of weapon = class is already starting to be a problem. I wonder if we're moving to multi-weapon class future. I kinda hope so.

    I'd have to guess the only reason they won't have a ranged auto attack is to avoid "accidentally" wasting arrows.

    I vote we make ammunition just single equip items and infinite. You have your different arrows with different effects that can be equipped as if it was just another piece of equipment.

    Crafts to make arrows would be changed from making crap-tons of arrows to just one single equipable arrow.

    Infinite ammo systems tend to be easier to balance anyways. Since ammo costs only apply to specific classes.

    Oh, it's another one of those "I can't imagine anything different from XIV's current state" types.

    You do ranged attacks with your bow for the bulk of your main damage but have the option of running up and doing minor damage auto-attacking with a dagger/one-handed axe in case you run out of ammo or want to finish off a mob without wasting an arrow. Is that so difficult to understand? It isn't broken, but it's much better to have ranged weapons in a seperate slot than simply being bound to your bow and forced to throw rocks as an alternative.

    It's frustrating to see posts like yours (and I see them often). Stop and think for a moment. You seriously think I'm suggesting that Archers shouldn't spend most of their time dealing ranged damage? Quit acting like you speak for everyone too.

    The waste won't be that much, you're damaging the mob after all. But it should be up to the player if they want to auto attack. I don't see why they can't have a toggle for it to keep people happy who worry they may lose a few 40 gil arrows.

    Are you serious?

    Not once have I ever ran out of arrows and thought "how cool would it be if I could attack with a completely different weapon?!". In fact I rarely ever run out of arrows to begin with. But the once or twice I have I've simply switched class or went and bought more and it's not a problem.

    Sure you can give archers a dagger instead of a stone for when we run out of arrows, I don't have to use it because I won't be running out of arrows. You can go play with your dagger on ARC while I play with my dagger on GLA. But do not take away my ability to auto attack with my weapon; the bow.

    Your argument is like telling me a lancer shouldn't have auto attack with his spear, but instead should be able to auto attack at range with a bow. It makes no sense.

    that + we'll see low level noobs without ammo fighting mobs to level to say R20 and when they finally get in party they will suck badly. Kind of like Ninja in FFXI who never used Utsusemi once to Lv75 and can't do crap lol
    Exactly. I can see the popularity of archer falling massively. I'm sick of tapping 1 to do basic attacks, I thought this is what auto attack was to solve. And there's people on here defending this? Does anyone actually want auto attack then or is this 1.18 patch going to be one huge fail?

    I can live with mages not having it, I spend more time casting spells than tapping 1 as a THM or CON but as an ARC it is vital to use basic attack to build TP.
