    They could have redesigned multishot to be press skill once = 2 arrow, press it twice 3 arrows, then press enter to fire the designated amount of arrows or simply convert it to a TP attack.

    In fact a TP attack would solve the issue of nub Archers nocking 3 arrows and stealing hate from the get go of a fight aswell.

    I'm confused. Isn't this exactly how it works now, except instead of enter you hit 1? Maybe I just don't understand what you mean.

    Yea maybe I didn't explain it very well, what I mean is that you press multishot and you get a sub-target which has the number 2 either inside the circle of above it, you press it again and the number changes to 3, you press enter (or action button on a controller) to complete the action.

    In the mean time your character would continue to AA with arrows.

    Thinking about it though I would much rather see the skill be a TP attack for the reason I mentioned above.

    You dont need AA with a ranged weapon / mage -.-

    i agree uncontrolled AA would have been more of a hindrance to archers, dunno bout mage. But then again the value of AA wasnt that high to me anyhow.
    Really i think how well the new combat feels will have more to do with Monster behavior/groups/stats and SP reward modifications. Which theoretically coming soon.

    Ranged auto-attack for mage/archer would be problematic to users of Sleep and Bind. Having a close range (hopefully ammo-free) alternative works perfectly fine for me.

    one thing for sure with Rangers/Archers with close combat weapons...

    A) Hey why aren't you in the back using range weapons?
    B) I'm out of ammo
    A) ...After this fight go make or buy some
    B) Nah I don't have any money + I'm too lazy to keep on tapping range attack
    A) OK we'll have to kick you out the party
    B) Hey I'm only @_____ can I just please stay?

    that + we'll see low level noobs without ammo fighting mobs to level to say R20 and when they finally get in party they will suck badly. Kind of like Ninja in FFXI who never used Utsusemi once to Lv75 and can't do crap lol

    I can live with mages not having it, I spend more time casting spells than tapping 1 as a THM or CON but as an ARC it is vital to use basic attack to build TP.
    You apparently never played FFXI. It worked fine then and it will work fine now. RELAX BROSEPH.

    Gladiators, conjurers and thaumaturges have an off-hand weapon... a shield.

    The offhand weapon slot is a good place for an archer to put a handaxe or a knife ( neither of which is currently associated with another class- to be perfectly clear, a knife is not a dagger ).
