If you want to keep all the loot, why are you doing peisteskin maps? All the contents get randomly divided, as well as the gil split evenly, and then there's the loot to roll on. If you want everything for yourself,

I never said i wanted everything for myself. the random split stuff should be compensation enough for all members that join the Hunt.
As for the actual loot that requires a /roll to earn which only happens a very low % of the time.. should not be /rolled at all.. Instead, it should fall to the one that deciphered the peisteskins map. Not sure why I come off looking like an @$$ here. I guess if you experienced this from my point of view you would see things different. Bottom line. a person who does absolutely nothing but /roll a high number can walk away with your hard earned time spent trying to earn the very item he got for free.

I am constantly fishing up maps and sharing the winnings. I understand, however, why you have no friends to do maps with. You seem to be a negative, grumpy, greedy person.1/10 troll points.

You can only get 1 map a day so whatever. You judge me yet dont know me. I share more with my FC than most . I given over half milliion gil to it and help everyone that ask for help. I don't see how I can be considered a troll when I make a vaild point regarding the /roll loot. Not sure why your personally attacking me about friends and being greedy and negative ? Your statement is false nothing you say is true.

You took my phrase out of context. What I meant is that it depends on the agreement between the players so sometimes, the players agree that the need/greed loot belongs to the one that opens the map, sometimes, anyone can roll on it. Did you even read? The loot you're talking about is indeed random. What I'm talking about is the thing coming out of the chest that is available for need/greed. If you don't like it, don't do treasure hunt with people you don't trust to uphold their end of the bargain.

Only the peisteskin maps are required to have a FULL PARTY of 8 to open the coffer.
You can not start the fight with anything less than 8.

I took the time to level a Gathering class to 50 and then farmed away at level 50 nodes for sometimes 30 min or longer to get the peisteskin map to pop.

Well it's your problem then, I always get map within 2 - 5 minutes tops.

1. We did peisteskin maps one day and they were winnable with 3 + 3 chocobos + a summons. Then we tried some another day and were fighting chimera with adds in a busy castrum. Our 3+3+1 were overwhelmed. The map fight difficulty is highly variable.

2. I usually do, too, but today there were 3-4 other botanists in the same area and it took around 15 minutes to see my first map. That was a boarskin. I'm OK with soloing (me + chocobo) boarskins, so I took it. If I had wanted a peisteskin, I might have been there another 15 minutes. (Actually, it popped right after the top of the hour... so maybe it was limited by one of those infamous "drop rate throttles" SE seems to use in its MMOs. Hmm...)

What u can do is group up with a party and agree beforehand that person who deciphers Map gets roll on loot, that way u all help each other and everyone get his maps rare loot ( this was said by someone before me)
However u can definitely open a peisteskin map without a full party, I did that the first time myself with the help of my choco, didn't go too well...

I have feeling that people that do these maps have no idea that there is a super rare / item that sometimes drops from these maps which have to be /rolled Need / Greed . Most of them speculate that the stuff that gets divided up is what i'm upset about. However those that do know will most likely understand my point of view. To date... i have run 23 peisteskin maps. Out of those only 1 time i saw the Blue Bird minion drop out of 23 days of farming maps. So divide those odds among number of players that can /roll on your map and you can see my complaint.

It's possible to go 9 months dig 127 maps and only see the Blue Bird minion 3 times and still you can loose it to people in your group.

You know in our little pile of people, we've done over 80 peiste maps and not seen one? You assume too much about what other people know while you were spouting off inaccuracy after inaccuracy in this thread. But at least, in the end, you found someone who agrees with you. Not about all the incorrect things you said, only about the loot distribution... even though other people have already discussed alternatives which you countered with more inaccuracies... good times, goooooood times.

Somewhat of an aside, but word on the street is that the rewards and difficulty scales to the number of people that do the fight. Has anyone heard this and/or has any supporting data?

Nope my FC does these all the time and once we had a battle with only 2 mob spawns for a lvl 50 8 man. It took us under a minute. And the loot was worthless. And another time we got 6 potash, same group same day.

He's getting hate because his complaints are purely selfish. If other people are investing their time and effort into helping him do his map, why should they not get a shot at that bluebird either? If he doesn't like it, then he can go solo those peisteskins himself so he doesn't have to worry about sharing.

If a group of people pool their money into lottery tickets, do you not split the winnings simply because you're the one who physically went out and bought the tickets? Same idea. Just because he dug up the map does not mean he gets exclusive rights to the loot. End of story.
