Sorry what? i came here thinking the mechanic was ACTUALLY broken but only to find someone whine'ing about how they have or will loose a loot roll. Sorry but this mechanic was well known before hand. If you want to be greedy do the solo maps

I've won up to 15 myth with 1 peisteskin map.
We usually loot map and do them all together with my FC (even solo lvl40 maps ^^) we let the random do its business for drops and everyone is happy. When we do 4-6 maps in less than 20 mins and get up to 60 myth, I think it's a good gift, as said before, other drops are just icing on the cake ^^

The strange thing is, some peisteskin maps have 1 solo easy boss with great loot (15 myth) and other have like 1 hard boss + 4-8 hard adds for meh loot (1-5 myth and laughable NQ materials).
By the way, the later are not that easy with 4 people, low ilvl and bad composition... You need a tank and a healer. If you go all out DPS with understuffed team, wipe is possible >__< (happened once, ashamed, we were TT__TT)

Yeah, I usually always got the Peiste boss, easy and 5myth. The other day did 2 maps ina row, first was I don't remember what Alpha thing still easy enough and gave 15myth and 5k gil. To compensate after we got the Coeurl Alphs with all its adds, and while we didn't die, we ran out of time when he was almost dead <.< So a map wasted. The annoying thing is you can't retry. (Btw we are a WHM and a SCH,my chocobo is supposed to be the tank but I tank better it seems <.<)
The 3 myth....never got less then 5 myself so far.

Somewhat of an aside, but word on the street is that the rewards and difficulty scales to the number of people that do the fight. Has anyone heard this and/or has any supporting data?

Edit: I actually found a thread that seems to indicate party size has nothing to do with the loot drops. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-Rewards/page1

Nope my FC does these all the time and once we had a battle with only 2 mob spawns for a lvl 50 8 man. It took us under a minute. And the loot was worthless. And another time we got 6 potash, same group same day.

I use a LS in order to hunt. We collect 3, 4, up to 6 peiskin maps in row. Rewards are random, but if you do a lot of maps with a group, everybody win.

Yea you don't need a full party, a fairly well equipped light party will do just fine. I'm in a treasure hunting LS as well, and everyone there seems to agree that the loot drops regardless of party size, what's increased is gil. Just in the maps I've done with the FC and LS, 4-5 people get about 1600 gil, 6 or more 5000 gil each. Just my experience.

The rewards are random. I've done plenty of maps with 8 people and sometimes it gives 1692 gil, sometimes it gives 5076 gil (3 times as much).
