Yes I agree please remove itthere is no need for it.

Because I still have hope that things will change. The games free now and gives me something do on a boring weekend but if I have to pay monthly to play at most 15 hours a month, its not worth it.
Obviously it's going to cost something soon.
If it's not worth it to you now, it's not going to be worth it to you then.

When I heard of surplus I thought it would account for all of the time I didn't play and give me regular sp until I finally reached that point.
Like if I don't play for 4 weeks, I should be able to get regular sp for 16 hours instead of 4 hours.
I'm not completely against ffxiv. I loved ffxi and have been waiting for this game for a long time. It'd be very disappointing to have to quit but if I find out that this is the way its going to be for now on and thats theres no plans for change, then I will quit. Until that point I will keep playing at a casual pace so that if things do change I will still have made progress on my character
The idea of Fatigue keeps people from playing FFXIV and that alone is more than enough reason to eliminate it.
At first I was kinda for it but now with some changes I do perfer to see it go too. I don't feel it's right to limit people on how much or how little they wanna play, especially if your paying for the service wich we all will have to at some point. Everyone should be self-accountable for their time management on how much they play and conduct themselves in their daily lives and if they don't have that kind of control then that should be they're own problem and not the gaming company.
Yes please remove surplus.
I don't care if some players have enough time to go through 1-max level in a week while it might take me 6 months. Besides, it looks horrible on gaming site reviews when it's said "if you play too much you will be penalized". If immersive is what they were going for, this is not it. It's enough as is that we can only do 8 quests per 36 hours. That in itself is enough to make people not want to login. (and if the argument is great rewards, reduce them and take away the timer) I rather play at my convenience and schedule than feel the need to login at x time to do y many things because if I don't then I have lost potential content I could have done. I also would rather not have to logout because I didn't have time to play for two weeks but I wanted to level and make up for it one weekend but I wasn't able to because of surplus exp. . .
Assuming fatigue won't be going away anytime soon....
1) Raise the threshold values whenever SP gain is increased. If you're going to rebalance SP so that players rake it in faster, then dangit raise the threshold so that we don't hit it faster. I know it's obvious, but it doesn't appear to actually be happening.
2) Make the classes more individualistic so there is actually a good reason to level them simultaneously past 20. Why do so many classes need a Bind effect, anyway? Or a "hit all enemies in a line" attack? Instead of cloning abilities across classes, separate them so that people will actually *want* to cross-class for them.
And a couple more related specifically to fatigue accumulation:
3) Turn off fatigue generation when in a party. If you're in a party, you don't generate fatigue. At all. Oh hey look, suddenly everyone wants to party.
4) Bonus SP/XP from levequests and Guardian's Favor does not add to fatigue. Only the enemy's natural SP/XP values add to the threshold counter. Any bonus you get on top of that for being on a levequest, or having Guardian's Favor active, is just that--extra free SP/XP that doesn't incur a penalty.
LOL. I barely play the game anymore and im no where near the level lots of people are who play each day 8 hours a day. Im only level 20 right now and i started in Sept. I dont think the Surplus works this way? What i hear it works on the "weekly bases" for how much exp you have not the "monthly bases" or yearly bases or what ever then resets. So in no way we would be able to catch up to someone who plays daily for that many hours. Its not based on who is the highest level in game and when everyone else plays it tries to catch up to them... so yah you get my point here.
