You have to pay $1 per extra character in FFXIV. I really, REALLY don't think people will be quite as willing to make troll alts in this game.Haha, no. I think easily there will always be an idiot on at all times saying stupid things this is a war the GMs won't be able to win, it's too easy to make a character. I'm also absolutely positive this will cause an RMT explosion, especially if it were implemented as the game became more popular. I guarantee it. There literally isn't a better tool imaginable for them short of compromising our emails.
Sorry, but communication is what online games are all about. Sure, some people tend to become jerks in the anonymous environment that the internet provides, but that's the nature of the beast. If you can't deal with it, then online games are probably not for you. But castrating people's ability to communicate is certainly not the ideal solution. This is the Age of Information, after all, and information must flow.Yes, if you aren't in favor of a global chat channel, you must immediately cease your usage of the entire internet. Got it. I'm done here, have fun, CMs, you've seen my points, please make sure the opposition is also heard by the dev team. I'm not looking forward to having some little 12 year old KKK wanna'be spouting off each night when I'm trying to play Final Fantasy, I'd hop on Xbox Live if I wanted that experience.
Personally, I think the $1 fee for extra characters should be abolished, but that's another topic altogether.
