2. its okay while leveling it doesnt really matter, using soulstone job give you a bit extra stats and some exlusive job skill. Pretty sure the lvl 30 skill isnt really that great

3. crafting will cost you a lot of gil and on my server it doesnt really sell right now :/ dungeon gear is better but theres RNG, GC gear reward is on par with crafted gear i guess.
a suggestion, get all your DoH to level 15, the cross skill really helps and you will feel awesome when you are wearing your own crafted high quality gear

And does this mean relying on crafting as a means of income is pointless?

right now it is pointless, but who knows what future update will bring? and yes, do not teleport too much if you want to save some money, walk everywhere
