    3. crafting will cost you a lot of gil and on my server it doesnt really sell right now :/ dungeon gear is better but theres RNG, GC gear reward is on par with crafted gear i guess.
a suggestion, get all your DoH to level 15, the cross skill really helps and you will feel awesome when you are wearing your own crafted high quality gear
Crafting your own HQ gear COSTS gil, it does not generate gil. Also, the Materia is the only thing that makes crafted gear better than darklight, and getting good materia melds will also cost you a lot of gil. Darklight and CT gear is more than enough for starting the endgame.

Well you certainly aren't implying that they should craft themselves HQ LEVELING gear are you? Because that would be terrible advice to a new player. Ignore all leveling gear and you will do fine going from 1-50 with just quest rewards/the occasional dungeon loot. Worse case scenario you can buy a piece you need from the vendor or from the marketboard. Do not bother leveling up your crafting professions to craft yourself any gear, leveling or endgame.

You can farm all the materials, including the shards, for every synth if you put in the effort. Crafting costs you nothing that way; and it will make you money if you do leves with things you gather yourself.

Crafting costs you either gil, or time, which is gil. Any player is much better off just focusing on reaching Lv50 first by completing the main scenario quests and the side quests, and you do not need any crafted gear for that whatsoever.

i think i did say dungeon gear is better ? and she also said that she want to craft her own gear, which is pretty cheap and she can easily gather them all by herself
first time i leveled my toon, i leveled both armorer, miner and marauder crafted all the leveling gear by myself and at lvl 50 i still have a lot of gil

You're nothing if not consistent... Back on point; I too made my own gear as I leveled, weapons, and armor, and gathered it all myself. It was a great time. This whole "Time is money" in a game which designed as a way to pass time is flat out silly. Not everyone wants to rush one job to fifty so they can grind the same 2 dungeons over and over and over and over and over and over.... 1k character limit, I should stop there.

Any player is much better off enjoying the game instead of treating it like a second job, unless that's what gets you off.

Indeed I made this thread to ask for new player/beginning help xD
Based on what you have all said, I should only bother doing crafting for free gears through my own effort and time spent gathering materials. Accept the monetary rewards from quests and ignore the quest armor. In fact I do as Peptaru said, which is gather all the materials for yourself. It is Arduous but it works. Despite practically spam lvling out of fun I am a casual gamer so spamming to 50 and then repeating the 50 games content over and over is not very appealing. I'll do that when I am 50 and ready to upgrade my gears, maybe not even then if the lvl 50 stuff is boring. I do not know what Darklight/CT is, but if it matters, I am following a guides advice to get my grand company lvl 50 gears. Till then it seems I will worry about crafting and using crafted gears so that I can select monetary rewards over crafted gears. Also I think this is my last post I can make today thanks to heavy forum restrictions~

It takes hours, days, if not weeks to level up crafting professions. If you really are a casual player with limited playtime, I don't know why you would want to spend it crafting gear for yourself when you can simply focus on leveling. You're not "saving gil" this way, its costing you a lot of gil every day you are not Level 50. Gear rewards at level 50 are limited to 450 Tomes of Mythology per week, so every week you are not 50 you are falling behind. The game only gets more exciting as you reach the end and there is more stuff to do. Not saying you have to RACE to the end, but that should be your goal, and you should know the disadvantages of not being level 50 yet.
