I, for one, like FATEs, and I hope they do more of them.
And Gilgamesh is coming in 2.2? How do you know?

Play through the Hildibrand quest. He turns up in a preview at the very end.
And I like FATEs too. I just don't want them tied to quest progression. It puts a noticeable halt in story progression.
Thank you. I could have written the same message exactly, you read my mind.Fates are not fun, the majority of players do not like fates at all. I absolutely despise fates, this is coming from someone who ran off and did every single event in GW2 and absolutely loved the event system(aka fates) in GW2 and wanted to do every single one everytime they were up.
Fix your horrible fate system, make them actually interesting, chain, effect the world, last more than 5 seconds, scale, and not be gigantic zerg fests. Then, and only then, are you allowed to keep using these.
Go play Guild Wars 2, see what a dynamic enjoyable event system is, see how to actually make a fun, interesting system. Go do the tequatl event, see how to make a truely challenging world event.
I will repeat again: The majority of players do NOT like your fate system, stop using it, please.
Thanks for reading our feedback!

I did miss your point. I honestly don't mind the events being a little on the more simple side. I could agree with some expansion of it but I sure don't want some extra daily dungeon everyday or something like that.I don't know what you're getting at, but I get the impression that you missed my point entirely.
If anything, I want seasonal events lengthened. I commented on how the only thing you do for the seasonal events is camp fates. Nothing else. I would like to see far more than just a fate. As it is, the event is completed in an hour and a half, or less perhaps. After that, there is no reason to go back to it, none.
There's just so much missed potential.

Ah well, to each their own I guess.
I don't think a new dungeon for a seasonal event is feasible, but I wouldn't be opposed to it should it happen.
But I was thinking more in the direction of proper quests like blizzard does in WoW.
Have to agree about the fate system events they really need to be sorted out but even in GW2 their dynamic events are again just zerg's same as in Rift or even Warhammer when it was around this type of system seems to just go that way. For me I will still roll alts until there is a decent way of leveling 1 character as I will never ever level via the fate system.

I kinda liked dark device. That had like 1% story but it was interesting compared to every other fate. Don't even start on collection fates.
Indeed. I would also prefer a quest chain for any seasonal or limited time events.
Personally, I thought WAR's public quests were superior to GW2's dynamic events; so far FFXIV's fates have seemed similar to both those systems (no surprise), except for its relative lack of chains. I skipped Rift, but a recurring problem is that the content isn't well designed for either extreme population level. This type of content would best be utilized as solo content, with some sort of small group flex mechanism; it fails at large population density, along with the supporting technology, suggesting that other types of content should be used in places like endgame.

I never even saw Lightning on the Screen, because of the zergfests. The FFXIII FATEs sucked too. There was no reason you couldn't have made them more interesting temporary guildhests that allow you to actually see your favorite FFXIII heroine in action. A zerg fest that lasts all of 3 seconds? Yeah, that's terrible. Stop using FATE for everything.
I'm not a fan of holiday events being entwined with FATES either. Something just feels cheapened or rushed about the experience. It took me 30 minutes to do the Starlight Celebration Event, and 28 minutes of that was traveling and waiting for the event to Spawn. It simply was not fun at all. And the point of games is to have fun, for me at least.
