Please stop putting holidays/events inside Fates

Fates are not fun, the majority of players do not like fates at all. I absolutely despise fates, this is coming from someone who ran off and did every single event in GW2 and absolutely loved the event system(aka fates) in GW2 and wanted to do every single one everytime they were up.

Fix your horrible fate system, make them actually interesting, chain, effect the world, last more than 5 seconds, scale, and not be gigantic zerg fests. Then, and only then, are you allowed to keep using these.

Go play Guild Wars 2, see what a dynamic enjoyable event system is, see how to actually make a fun, interesting system. Go do the tequatl event, see how to make a truely challenging world event.

I will repeat again: The majority of players do NOT like your fate system, stop using it, please.

    Thanks for reading our feedback!

My cure for the whole FATE ordeal is to simply not do it when they first come out. Everyone and their granddad joins in on them and it's always a big mess.

I waited until the last possible day to do the Lightning FATEs and it was a pretty good deal at that point without the herd tagging along.

Not that this changes your decision or anything, I just felt the need to share, is all. Needless to say, FATEs are more enjoyable after everyone's had their fill.

Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?

I did all the lightning fates early in the morning with only 3 other people and they still weren't fun at all. Just spam my DPS rotation and sit in AOE's because the fights are too easy and pose zero challenge. The majority of your time spent doing fates standing around waiting gor them to pop then they end in 5 minutes. No actual fun to be had.

I like that you used Tequatl as an example because it's literally just stand on his foot and spam aoe (every skill in that game just about).

I do, however, agree that events in FATEs could stand to be throttled back. One or two maybe but I'd like an actual quest chain.

They updated him and gave him crazy mechanics, this is no longer true.

It took them, what, a year to do so? Meanwhile other world bosses are just as easy to zerg as they've always been. . .

Indeed. I would also prefer a quest chain for any seasonal or limited time events.

Personally, I thought WAR's public quests were superior to GW2's dynamic events; so far FFXIV's fates have seemed similar to both those systems (no surprise), except for its relative lack of chains.

I skipped Rift, but a recurring problem is that the content isn't well designed for either extreme population level. This type of content would best be utilized as solo content, with some sort of small group flex mechanism; it fails at large population density, along with the supporting technology, suggesting that other types of content should be used in places like endgame.

While waiting 90 minutes for a FATE to spawn last night I ended up making a ton of friends while chatting it up / waiting for it to pop. And this took me back and made me realize part of why I loved FFXI's HNM / NM system. When you have nothing to do for an hour+ on end you start chatting it up and making friends / building the community.

If only they could mash up the two systems without turning it into a RMT game :\

Well either way they are fixing the spawn times on those FATEs but yes in general the FATE system is not ideal IMO.

I had that last night as well. Waited 2 hours for a new FATE to pop for a quest and it reminded me of FFXI NM camping. Good times.

I'm probably about as tired of Fates as the next guy, but I actually like the ones they added for this holiday event. They were kind of different as far as Fates go. Mostly the same as the rest but with a small twist.
