It already is.
At least on Behemoth, ilvl 75 is the minimum. Something that DL + Relic won't get even close.
And that's how themepark (should) work, previous gear gets worthless as new ones are introduced. I'd rather have all my darklight becoming outdated than this situation, where I either focus on gearing only one job or hope someone can see past this stupid average item level.
SE's lack of foresight is amazing, they could easily have made all the three new dungeons reward level 80 gear along with CT, but they give level 60 gear that no one will use. What's the point? If someone wants to progress their character, they'll just do WP speedruns, not Pharos Sirius.
Loot lockout should be weekly per job. It would force people to play with other jobs. I feel that SE really discourages multi job play in this game.
I think it's fine honestly.
I thought the loot lockout on CT was fine.
My first CT went fine, everyone knew what they were doing and if they didn't they would listen to the details of the fight and act accordingly.
Then I experienced my second CT. And it took us forever just to get to Behemoth... at which point I gave up, decided i80 isn't worth it, and left.
If this were an 8m dungeon the lockout would be fine. But having to rely on so many people just to finish the dungeon once... @_@
i75 isn't that bad to get. My DRG is i74 with all DL/crafted, Relic (not +1) and two pieces of allagan. I don't think that's that bad. I'm not sure I would really want i83-i84 be the minimum for pugging anything in this game though. It wasn't so bad to make full darklight required as it was easily acquired token gear. But forcing RNG drops on your player base... ugh
They are experimenting with ways to make three tiers of gear relevant. I think most of the people here are just used to WoW having only two relevant. It really just doesn't seem that bad to me. In fact, I really wish coil was this way tbh... static drama is the worst
I would be fine with them releasing the loot lockout if they actually made the encounters hard, as it is the game gives away free gear to the runs that have enough competent people to make it though the extremely easy and forgiving mechanics. If anything, people should be outraged at how they took what could have been amazing encounters for 24m groups if tuned correctly and dumbed them down for LFR.

First off, I highly prefer CT's loot lock out compared to Coils weekly look out. With CT I am pretty much guaranteed one piece of equipment. Coil, you can run weeks and not get anything. I love Crystal Tower, in fact I am on my 7th time running it this week. I love that I can play with my FC mates that haven't gotten to go. It's a great system. As far as people complaining about alts and such. I've got War decently geared, Pld with AF2/ Allagan, SMN with AF2/DL, Sch/Whm working on full DL, Blm in full DL, and since my main (Pld) doesn't really need the CT gear its awesome, I can move it to one of my many other decently coil ready jobs.
SE remove all the locks, so people can play a week then quit and bitch how they aquired everything in a week and their is nothing to do. This way you won't have to deal with all these other complaints.. oh wait...
Can i post yet?
Back in the day they mentioned 3 rolls per week before the lockout but I guess plans change, why so entitled, etc. Then again they also mentioned how dungeons would drop the best gear and also tokens to buy gear with lower stats but it turned out quite a bit of Myth AF is better or at least equal to Coil pieces so that's another thing, arguably a better thing because you can mix and match.
I'd honestly just have RNG back and increased loot tables, maybe throw in some DoH and DoL gear too and mats. Sure Darklight had ridiculously low drop rates in 1.0 but there was always an incentive to keep running dungeons for that chance to get a lucky drop and aside from a 15 min lockdown because bad servers/artificial content extension you could run them as much as you wanted. Now that we have tokens if you never even see a CT or Allagan piece drop and keep getting Scorpion Shields and Spiked Armguards you could still buy the piece you want after 10+ runs, that's kind of what I was personally expecting in the earlier 2.0 announcement days.
