I have only 250,000 to my name. I suspect the majority of players at any given time, will have on a single retainer, anywhere between 250,000 to 300,000 gil tops. Hundreds of millions of gil is not the norm, and one must question how someone even has that amount to begin with.

Those level 49 HQ rings were about 90-150k each. Now they are 4k and the price of the mats has not really changed. Imagine how much gil someone made on those the first month of release. There are a ton of items this happened with I took advantage of this opportunity to make gil knowing very well that end game could wait.

I started with 500k from 1.0 and now I have more than enough gil to pay for housing land.
