Triple turn ins are more worrying about leve allowances than crafting time.

depends. You get some great stuff if triple leve hits lucky, and turn in depends if it's an easy one or a hard one. hi-potion for example is famously profitable on alchemy, probably compared to every other leve it's still completely owns them.

Same with a few other ones, especially npc ones.

In fact CUL is highly good to spam simply to turn triple-leves into gil, besides XP, by abusing a certain NPC.

Yes you can. I think it took me somewhere around 50-55 leve's to go from 1-50 on carpentry. Just depends of course but easily inside of a 100, can you space it so you can do 2 classes 1-50 in a 100 leve's, that might be more difficult.

On a side note, I purchased a lot of HQ food to do turn ins. I could make more money farming and making weaver gear to sell than it cost me to just buy up a bunch of HQ food to turn in for leve's. If you are smart and need the money if your doing a leve....so are other people. Make several extra HQ whatever's your turning in for leve for the market. You'll make a killllingggg. Made like 50k off one type of armor while leveling CRP because I just mass produced a leve turn in. Then some people caught on and I went from selling the item at 5000 each to only 500-1000.

I like the point brought up about reward items...

Yes, with a triple turn in, you can get the reward item 3 times. So if you really need diremite webs, or boar leathers, and you can use lower level readily available materials, that's GREAT way to get those materials.

HOWEVER - If a triple turn in like Wvr or Arm requires 5 threads, or ingots to make each item, it might not be worth it.

The point is - you have to CONSIDER what the reward is, and whether it's worth it from gil, time, experience and allowance perspectives. Usually several of those items (gil, tim, xp, leves) are at odds with one another. Initially, I thought triple turn ins were always the best, but the point of this thread is that there's more to consider, and they are not ALWAYS the best

While not "always" it is more or less "almost always" due to the fact that a triple leve xp/reward ratio is almost 15levels over a normal leve.

This is due to cost and HQ possbility. A lvl 15-35 shard cost is exponentially less then a lvl 40-50 recipe. This opposed to the relatively minor gil/shard of the leves they reward scale.

So it's almost always better to do 1 lvl20-25 triple leve then it is to do a lvl40 normal leve without sacrificing much xp lost in comparison.

Until the leve reward vs recipe gets balanced, triple remains the "almost always" thing to do.

FYI, you can lower the necessary time constrain by using NQ mats, (basically spamming your 1 button because quick synth sucks), and HQing the final product, if you are way over the level, that is triple leve.

and there are always "super good rewards" that are vintage stuff, such as gathers belt and vest.

I leveled all my crafts simultaneously and so this problem was negligible. Using single turn-ins was far superior because, as previous posters have mentioned, it is the most efficient use of your time (each craft yields 3x as much EXP with single over triple turn-in leves). However, you may end up annoyed at teleporting and running to the Observatorium/Whitebrim Front every time you want to turn something valuable in if you're only taking one or two leves at a time.

Certain edge cases still stick out though. High leveled WVR's will always tell you to skip the Velveteen phase, and continue on the Cotton phase until you hit 35, when you have access to Linen leves. Since you skipped the Velveteen phase, this means you will probably have a huge surplus of Diremite Web that you can sell in the market. You don't necessarily have to use them. Granted, it's going to be a hell of a long time to level from 30 to 35 purely by 9x Cotton Breeches of Crafting, but this is only for the frugal. From 30 to 35, they'd tell you to spam craft Linen Yarn/Undyed Linen instead, since Flax is considerably cheaper (at least, that's what I'm doing now).

I never did Velveteen. I think for a class quest you had to do it. I remember farming less than one stack on my PLD which took FOREVER when we had the serious bot issue. But yeah 90% of the velveteen tier is still uncrafted.

With triplers you are pretty much always getting WAY better XP / leve. But you are often getting LESS XP / time, and LESS item reward / cost of the items to turn in (you need three items to get one reward).

HOWEVER, the "best" REWARD can be thought of as the most XP/leve, OR the most XP/time spent, OR the most item reward/item cost

I've got a ton of leves saved up (near-cap). What would the best/easiest(?) leve to get alchemist up? Currently level 40, the rest of my craft/gather are 15 aside from 25 weaver :/
