Even so, I know people who buy/sell Titan wins. I don't get that. Why play a game just to have someone else do content for you. If you want to play a game that plays itself or other people play for you just go watch "Lets Play" Videos or streams of top teams/players. The fact that you buy a win for an item or drop has always eluded me. It's not the same as buying an item in the market as you don't have the craft to get it, but if you have the class to use the item, you can obtain it through the dungeon or duty.
If they item isn't sell/trade it is for a reason. The item is more a symbol of your accomplishments. Every time i see a Relic I should think. "Man that guy beat Titan Hard Mode"
Now I'm like "hmmm wonder if he bought his relic.. his gear seems bad, besides his relic...."
I don't want this to start happening to Coil. Which it might since people are complaining it is too hard, and top teams are already clearing it regularly and before the next coil update might start selling wins.

I don't like it either, however I understand as long as there is the ability to sell runs it will happen. Some players find it easier to acquire gil through legitimate means or not. Others are in a group that find farming Titan is easier than acquiring that amount of gil. So exchange will happen.
Getting angry and saying it's morally wrong is not going to change a thing even if you're right. Only way to reduce this is if SE takes action to prevent it. So having a lot of players pressuring SE to do something about it maybe a better approach.
It's going to take a long time before this will happens to Coil especially for the weapons since it's locked for a week.
I'm not saying it is wrong, because yeah lets say I enjoy crafting and made 40 million gil and I want a relic but don't want to waste time/energy because i don't enjoy it it might seem reasonable then to buy it. I mean you can buy other items. But if that is my play style, why do I even need it besides shiny glowing pixels?
The point I am trying to make is that the only reason to have a top tier is so that it helps you do harder content. If you cant complete the current content, why have the new item, what makes you think you can complete the harder content? The only other reason to have these items is for show of your accomplishments, but with achievements you can see who beat coil regardless of weapon drop. You can also see that they didn't earn it if their skill is extremely lacking in luster.
I just don't understand it. It isn't that I don't like it, it's just strange in my opinion. Why pay for this game, pay for a monthly fee then pay for someone to do content for you?

Because it's gated behind three weeks of tome farming?
Tbh I wish I could buy Coil runs just to rebel against this stupid mentality mister director is trying to force into the game. I'm sick of the hardcores getting to play the coolest dungeon of the game, getting to see how the story ends, getting the only gear that actually looks cool while casuals get a recolor of their AF.
And then people comes whining that the game is too "casual friendly". Yeah, right. Say that while you fight Twintania and the casuals are doing yet more WP.
You and I are quite different my friend. I want the Mythology armor because it's a recolor/re-design of AF. I know that sounds wierd, but I love the identity that each set of Mythology gives. It looks so amazing (Especially DRG!) and I just wish there was a level 50, incredibly difficult quest for each class to get the full set of armor instead of relying on dungouns for it. Sorta like traditional FF was with the original Artifact. (I know we already somewhat have that, except the 'difficult' part, I've found most level 45/50 class-quests to be a joke. Except maybe WHM if you don't know what you're doing.)Tbh I wish I could buy Coil runs just to rebel against this stupid mentality mister director is trying to force into the game. And how does everyone get tomes? Farming WP, which is at the start of the end-game hardly reason for a relic+1 to be top tier or even close. Its also gated to slow down your consumption of content and keep you playing not because the item is ilvl90.
Turns 1-4 can be done by a pug quite easily, turn 5 will likely be done by a pug eventually. The hardcore crowd hardly have exclusivity on the top tier when all you see all week is shouts for random groups, the only thing they do have is the chance to get there first and thats only because they put in the time for it.I'm sick of the hardcores getting to play the coolest dungeon of the game, getting to see how the story ends, getting the only gear that actually looks cool while casuals get a recolor of their AF.

Also if you dont like the direction the game is going in best leave and save yourself some money, the producer has stated on numerous occasions he is drawing inspiration from games such as WoW and RIFT. And why not? They are very successful games that follow the same line of progression that FFXIV aims to do.
Both WoW and Rift has different layers of difficulty. Progression there includes the raids and the last bits of story. And how does everyone get tomes? Your point being? Twintania is gated behind a 2 month or more(depending on allagan rng) gearing up process to even be able to kill him. Good luck on that buying coil runs also considering there is not powerful enough gear in this game yet to just flat out carrying someone like yourself through turn 5, all the gil in the game won't change that.
Being casual and being noob is different you know. What you're describing is that you're "noob" and not that you're a casual. I'm a casual, I play very limited hours a week but I still manage to get stuff done in coil regardless. Stop blaming people and start taking a look at yourself.Because it's gated behind three weeks of tome farming?

Also just to add, why does every mmo have those people who want exclusivity in order to try their best to SHINE OUT beyond everyone else. Do you realise in a long enough time scale, everyone will have the BiS weapon and no matter what you do, you're never going to be the "only few" who have access to a BiS weapon or gear. This exact mentality is what I never understood when people brag about being world first and then realise some jap group got it first and throw a tantrum and eventually quit lol.
In an ideal world, these people want content that is hard enough for only them to complete but not so hard that they can't complete it. If it is harder than what they can achieve, they call it OP, needs a nerf and flips the table calling it bad design.
