Basically this....They could have even thrown us a bone and implemented some sort of Alternate Advancement to at least keep us busy..My FC should have T5 down soon and once that's down and we've bled it dry it may be time to unsub until new progression oriented content is released.
Leveling and gearing out Alts will really only hold your attention so far....
I mean I've been grinding some crafting hard inbetween coil runs and capping Myth, but that will have an end at some point too..
I will run it for the clear, any possible story and just to have done it.
If it is fun and rewards ToM and the gear looks nice I will run and rerun it.
Well re-run it may not be an option as we can not take a full 24 manned FC run. Also the fact that we will have 2 other random groups of 8, seems to be more of a disaster waiting to happen. Finally I believe Yoshi said it would take 90-120 mins to complete so I am not even sure players will want to re-run it but we will see soon enough. Now this may change depending on how many myth we actually get for each time we complete it, possibly 50 maybe 60 myth? I cant see them giving too much more than that.
And yet, has the single most likes of any post here.
The question remains exactly which slice of the MMO population ARR Appeals to. And again, this tangent ignores the strongest counterpoint standing: Crystal Tower exists as part of the progression, it simply fills the gap.
The fact that whether or not Starwinds or my viewpoints on Progression Obsession is in the minority, those who are at the point where gear from CT is not an upgrade to current pieces of gear are in a minority as well.
Those who cannot benefit from gearing one of their classes in CT are in an even smaller minority, and it speaks large amounts of selfishness to expect that content be altered to cater specifically to them above other players who would benefit more for the content to be delivered as initially advertised.
I'll play content for the fun of it, and collect the goodies out of pure kleptomania, upgrade or not. I don't expect this playstyle to be in the majority, but I do expect other people to acknowledge when their preferences are also in the minority, and should tone down their expectations accordingly.
The whole '3 parties of 8' thing is a different matter entirely. I am disappointed that I can't do a full FC run.Well re-run it may not be an option as we can not take a full 24 manned FC run. I'm willing to bet that CT is going to be like coil and will have several floors and be awarded tomes when you complete your floor. You are right, it probably won't be 50 tomes a floor like coil.
However I am less worried about ToM per hour than having some variety how I farm it.
Point taken but in all honesty running dungeons is getting really old. How about they make meaningful challenging open world content? I dont mean more fates like odin and bemouth, they really are not challenging due to the fact that they keep disappearing and reappearing. Its more of a major annoyance than anything else. i mean in 4 months they could have come up with something. The whole '3 parties of 8' thing is a different matter entirely. Pretty much...people are denial if they don't think subs are dropping more and more. I see all over FFXIV groups/forums of people complaining how their FC's are getting emptier and emptier. People are bored and doing other things with their time now. I just hope it doesn't get as empty as 1.0 againMaybe, maybe not but... players are getting bored with the current trend they are also not happy with patch 2.1 with all the arguing in regards to it. Only time will tell in regards to this decision. So from patch 2.1 til 2.2 we have a 3 months wait, I hope SE gets patch 2.2 out on time and with some really awesome content.![]()
Actually I don't think it's being delivered as initially advertised at all....yes it is definitely the gap filler from fresh 50 to coil, but it's definitely not a community raid like they made it out to be. They turned around and made it into a DF circle jerk. They took away a giant community/FC piece when they didn't allow servers to organize their own CT raids and have alliances etc. Those who cannot benefit from gearing one of their classes in CT are in an even smaller minority, and it speaks large amounts of selfishness to expect that content be altered to cater specifically to them above other players who would benefit more for the content to be delivered as initially advertised.
With that said there will probably be very little challenge to the content and it will have to be something that caters to the most casual player. I am envisioning another Praetorium with more players tbh. God I hope they prove me wrong...
My FC is having this issue as well, it sad really. Hopefully Yoshi will change course a tad but I dont know maybe the doom and gloom predictions are correct but time will only tell.Pretty much...people are denial if they don't think subs are dropping more and more.
