9 Month progress with 1 week lockouts of obtaining anything? Even the most 'hardcore fan' wouldn't put up with that. Generally speaking, you play single player games for fun and excitement, MMORPGs you play for fun and loot. If you take the loot out of the equation, people will go to the "next fun thing" where they can get loot. You can barely even do CT for vanity gear at this point.

CT's "fun" potential won't be realized for a very long time, since they alternate every 3 months between CT and Coil, it won't be until 6 months from now will they extend it and add in additional bosses (Cloud of Darkness and Gilgamesh most likely won't be in this early but who knows.)
