    Take this into consideration:

Some people lie, or give partial truths, even in low level content, so that someone doesn't drop from the group should they admit to not knowing, or are familiar with the dungeon and have to wait 30+ minutes on the DF again.

I tend to say that I've watched a video, because I usually have. But that doesn't mean I'm intimately familiar with fighting the boss or progressing through the dungeon itself. All the video does is give you an idea what to expect and how to deal with it. However, I've seen some people drop group because things didn't go 100% flawlessly (and they were the one responsible, not the people that they are verbally abusing).

I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.

I wonder about something... Are AK, Titan HM, Coil and all these other endgame dungeons not mentionning "one or more members of your party is new" at the beguining, when it's someone's first time?

I can't see how the team can ignore the fact that one membre likely doesn't know the fights when the game itself states it right from the start (that's in reply to the one mentionning people doing a speedrun without explaining anything nor pausing).
Same reason, I can't see how someone can expect to keep the lie when the game sells them out automatically...

Personally, if I always stop before the first boss battle and simply ask "Does everyone know the fight?" before stepping inside the room. Takes all of 2 seconds to type, and can save so much time (compared to finding out by wiping that some people had no idea what to do).

Correct, it doesn't say that. Most likely because the full message is someone is new, completing the duty in a timely fashion will award an exp bonus. But with Lv 50 content, no one is earning any experience.

I have met a lot of tanks who will rage quit in DF if someone admits to being new....

The Level 50+ areas do not give the 'New Person, Bonus' warning or reward. The last area that gives that notice is Cape Westwind because it is Level 49-50. Also, that warning may not be valid in side dungeons as the only thing it truly means is that there is a person who has never finished the dungeon.

Why wouldnt i lie. IF i get into coil by lying then thats great. Id like to see the 7 other ppl qq just cause im new.
Especially if ive gone DPS i should be able to get carried and learn the fight or at least fail and get experiance.
Groups saying experiance only deserve ata least 1 new person. How else is anyone going to get a go in coil.

If you're going to lie, you better make damn sure you're a fast learner. It ain't uncommon for people to get kicked from whatever raid, black listed by core members in said group, and then potentially name and shamed in Mor Dhona shout. lol

For the love of all that is holy don't do this, do some research and start a practice group or something but please don't tell a group you know what you're going then prove otherwise. Experienced players don't "owe" new players a spot in their raiding groups, but saying that there are a lot of well geared and experienced players that are more than willing to at least give some advice.

I have no issues taking newer players into coils in groups I'm with as long as we're aware of this from the start, people have to learn somewhere, but there's nothing more infuriating than someone who refuses to let us know beforehand they may need advice or information on bosses and mechanics.

The same way those experienced players did. By making a group and going in. Not by lying to other experienced players, which early on there were none. They made their own groups. They put in the time and effort, and they can choose if they want experienced players or not. You don't get to make that decision for them.

    2. Some of you are not the above types, but we can't know that beforehand now can we.

    Stalemate.

Actually there's one alternative solution: Make macros stating you would like to know if anyone is a new, so you can help etc, sprinkle it with smileys to make em feel safe. Because after all a new person can't be the one to initiate this with something like "Would you mind if someone told you they were new? Me? Oh, no, totally not me." xD
When I enter a dungeon in which at least 1 party slot was filled with a random DF player, I will always greet the group with the autotranslation text "Hello! (^_^ )/ Nice to meet you!" Just to give an indication that I come in peace. (^_^ )

I was thinking about adding the text "if you have any questions, please let me know. I'll help you as best as I can".

Everyone has been to that place where you experience the said content for the first time. So, think about how you would feel if someone bails out on you, because you said that this is your first run, or that you wear the regular AF gear in WP/AK/CM.
