Anyone would come to the conclusion after playing this game for a few hours - you know, the forced solo storylines in almost every other MMO you could actually be with friends? Even 1.x had a few "get solo!" but you were still able to help your friend.
Even Yoshi has said he wants to design this game so solo players and players who like to group have "options" - well, where's our option to go into CT with our full group if we chose to do this content? I know you'll defend anything SE does, but did you really think about the reason people are upset even if progressive wise this content does nothing for coil beaters/farmers? It's more about the fact the game forces you to be solo more than it does to actually be grouped and even then the forced group is 99% of the time 4 man.
A handful of quests that you do by yourself dictates the entire game being single player? Your option to go into CT with your full group will come after 2.1's release, just like it's been stated by SE. I think it's funny how I'm apparently defending everything SE does, when infact I'm just not getting mad over information that was never stated in the first place not happening the way I expected it to.
But whatever, stay mad at nothing. That's always helpful.
'Stay mad', you can't really peg someone's emotion through typing.
Oh, also I'd like to see where SE stated that despite any other content you can make premade parties for, CT was going to be different just because it's 24. I mean, the DF lets you go in with a premade setup all the time, where did they say in all the times the past year they mentioned CT that this particular one would work differently?over information that was never stated in the first place
Since as far as they stated they said you'd go in with 24 people and that each "team" will split up and come together at certain points, nothing about 8 premade, 16 random people.
Burden of proof lies on you. SE has always just stated that CT will be 24-man content. They have never said that we'd be able to form 3 full parties and enter just like that. If you can prove me wrong on this, do so. Until then, I'm going to be in the mindset that everyone is just getting worked up over absolutely nothing, like always.Oh, also I'd like to see where SE stated that despite any other content you can make premade parties for, CT was going to be different just because it's 24. Way to blow things out of proportion. Thanks for assuming that I was calling you a selfish one, or that that rethorical sentence was directed at you and only at you specifically. But anyway, sorry I guess, even if I stand with what I said about unrealistic expectations (keep reading below).Thank you for name calling, I assume you've read my posting history to judge how selfish and unrealistic I am about MMORPG and players in general. You're so great yourself!
Wait, how is that selfish to suggest more content for everyone and their mother? Yeah, whatever.
Also, regarding what you were suggesting, how is content harder than Coil (because let's face it, with the same base difficulty and 16 more players to coordinate it would be way harder to complete) something for everyone?
After how many months? And with what other content? Because, as far as I know, they usually just release those raids and some balance changes, but nothing else. If you want new systems, quests, etc. you have to wait (and pay) for an expansion. As for the rest, I don't agree, 4 bosses is just not a lot, and different difficulty levels don't change the fact that other MMORPG's release raids with 6-13 bosses on a regular basis, so it's no unrealistic at all. With 3 or even 4 difficulty levels, on day 1 of their introduction. Fact.
To reiterate it, Crystal Tower was said to be content aimed at the more casual playerbase, and balanced around the Duty Finder (not to mention that it doesn't have any limits on it, unlike Coil). I don't know why some people look so surprised about it now, when this isn't news.
And regarding the 8-man limit to go into the DF, I'm sure that it will be changed when they can (or at least I remember them saying so in the Live Letter), but that will just make CT even easier though. So maybe that will be introduced along a hard mode version of it, and everyone will be happy then. Meanwhile just try to tackle that content as a new challenge. Helping/coordinating the other two full parties made of people that you don't know might prove as a good exercise, and maybe you all could end having fun with those random strangers.
Patience is a virtue, or so they say.
I think it is a bigger task from a coding stand point to rewrite the DF matchmaking system to support queuing with more then 8 people. They rather get out the content CT out rather then recoding their DF system. I think this is fine because hard core people are already doing Coil which drops better gear. They already said you can queue with 8 for now, which means they are already working on support for queuing with more then 8 people.
Since it will eventually be in the game I don't get all the complaining. So what you might have to wait 4-6 months to stomp CT with 3 coil geared groups for your alt gear upgrades. I don't think its that big of a deal, this is casual content you can queue up at your leisure for alt job gearing, and you can take 7 people with you as well. It might be fun and you could meet some new people.
Can someone please tell me where this is stated? I see that it's implied by Yoshi's "will not be available at 2.1 launch", but I'd be interested in seeing any more information on the subject. Considering that the logical assumption I'm sure myself and many other people made was that full alliance pre-mades would be allowed from the start, as it stands it's a frustrating move to myself a lot of other players.
It was assumed that you could only take up to 8 people because Yoshi said in several live letters you queue with up to 8 and get matched with 2 other other groups. Can someone please tell me where this is stated? I suppose I may have missed that. I'm still not sure why this inability to bring a full alliance is the case though.
