Awful lot of Paladins QQing in this thread about how they won't necessarily be the go-to tank for everything in the game any more
1. With all the changes mentioned ; if Foresight was also buff I think it would push WAR pass the OP line. Also, please remember Foresight is shareable so any changes to it would impact DRG, MNK and PLD. I think that is why they didnt change any shareable abilities except Mecry Stroke. I do think they should have made Mercy Stroke ignore Defiance damage penalty tho, because regardless of cooldown, I rarely land a killing blow because i hit softer than DPS Classes.2.1 Warrior rotation:
BB Combo > SP combo > BB Combo > Inner Beast @ 5 > Vengeance on High Stable Consistent Damage > Thrill of Battle for INC Burst.
Remaining Problem and new problems:
-Foresight is still weak.
-Storm Eye will be totally out of rotation depending on the Storm's Path reduced damage debuff duration
-Steel Cyclone is still not worth using over Overpower or the new Inner Beast.
-Unchained will still not be used unless snap threat is needed for new Inner Beast is the new Warrior Block.
-Holmgang will still be useless if Twintania Dreadknights are not being snarable, as the current stun is still weaker than Paladin 20s CD 5s duration vs 6s no CD.
Please read this Yoshi if you want real input from a player that plays both classes.
2.Yoshi said they will be increasing Enmity in Defiance, Hopefully it will be a big enough boost to enmity that we can weave other combos in. As it stands right now, we can only weave 1 combo in b4 DPS catch up. Also durations do play a part in roation, If Durations are long enough the Ideal rotation will be BB>SP>SE > Repeat. Unchained or Inner Beast depending if u need Mitigation or Damage.
3. Steel Cyclone may be more viable now that we will not be such a paper tank. Since Inner Beast Healing will be reduced to 100%, Steel Cyclone will be a better option in some scenrio's. Prime example will be Wanderer Palace Speed Runs where your fighting 6-10 mobs at a time. Ideal Situation: Pop New Vengences (for counter attack and Damage reduction) > Bloodbath > Prepped Steel Cyclone > Infuriate> Steel Cyclone2 > Overpower Spam. You will be able to keep mobs attention, and recover more hp than New Inner beast.
4. Again, Unchained will still be used. Espcially now since Warriors will more survivabily and wont always need the mitigation from Inner Beast. Have you ever tried Unchained + Strom Eye Combo+ Berserk? You have some sick DPS for thos 20secs.
5. Holmgang is not a stun, its a lockdown. I found this very useful when WHM pulled hate and ran around like chicken with there heads cut off. Even if mobs are not able to be snar, the unkillable buff is still welcomed. The only question is how long will we be un-killable.

Fact is paladin will still be strong, warriors will just be slightly stronger in terms of consistent mitigation.
edit: a combination of the two will also be highly beneficial now.

can anyone say Warridin?
Latest Video: The ill FATE of a Ninja https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKVZ-biCMpg
WAR gets functional equivalents to Halone's STR debuff (Storm's Path - speculative here), Rampart, and Sentinel, sees TP cost reductions (SE/SP)/enmity boosts (OP/SC) to offset the fact that we have no additional means to regenerate TP or MP, gets a high-risk variant of Hallowed Ground, and the enmity bonus seems intended to allow for full use of all three combos. Defiance is still a tad weaker than Shield Oath but not by any margin I'm going to sweat. Reduced IB heals and necessarily limited use of SP mitigate some of PLD's gains via blocks and Bulwark, though PLD still has a clear lead on top-tier content... and PLD still has blind, silence, and pacification when applicable.
Honestly it seems like pretty reasonable changes to me. Not even mad Foresight isn't getting buffed. I'd argue that PLD is still the safer tank, but the gap has closed quite a bit and I'm not at all concerned about the rest.

These changes look great!
With the change to Defiance and the addition of these damage reduction abilities, we'll actually be able to keep up as Main Tanks. Some people are worried we might overtake Paladins, but I seriously don't think this is the case.
Playing both classes, this is exactly what the Warrior needs. I especially love the we'll actually have a reason to use Storm's Path now. Storm's Path for tanking, Storm's Eye for damage dealing.
These look great Yoshi-P. You're doing an amazing job! These changes reflect so much of the feedback given by the community, and its great to see that the developers are actually listening to us!
Just don't let the nay-sayers get you down. There are always people eager to criticize things for not living up to their expectations. They are impossible to satisfy, so take everything they say with a grain of salt.
Thanks for these changes so much!
20% reduction in damage for 6 seconds. Why the fudge wouldn't you want to spam it? OR save it for big hits.
These changes are amazing. Much needed for war MT. Sigh... I am so happy. A chain pull? <3 <3 <3
sure they were
a darklight warrior in 2.1 will be able to tank caduceus at 5+ stacks now, a darklight warrior in 2.1 will be able to tank double dreads in turn 4 now
i get that it's a massive buff, but that is what is required to bring them in-line with 2.0 paladins, i'm happy i'll be able to swap back to warrior
This changes make WAR more like PLD which I don't like and Mercy Stroke should give you HP if the mob dies withing 3 seconds or so instead of the current mechanic which makes it hard to time.
