    It is truly pathetic that people care more about the number they have on their sword than playing the game and defeating fiends with other people. I guess teens these days just don't have the imagination it takes to enjoy a MMORPG.
    You are missing the point.

    The point is challenge and diversity.

    If the current gear in the game is greater then the gear to be released in the future, what is the point in trivializing content?

    Are you suggesting that people farm their Green WP/AK sets and stop there so that when the 2.1 content patch is released, the linear gear progression can be adhered to with no amount of trivialization to be able to take place?

    One has to look at this from another side. if the new contents gear DID outmatch myth/coil loot then everyone would be complaining and crying that what they just worked for is now pointless. it takes months to be full myth gear, imagine if the new gear that comes out is better then myth, then you just wasted a lot of time.

    the patch is more for the other side of players who aren't hardcore playing this, as coil is NOT for everyone, and for these people there is crystal tower. you have to actually think about others. besides, not everyone will just max out every single jobs myth gear that fast, for say someone who is focusing on one jobs myth gear they can gear up the other ones they have with crystal tower, should you see it that way.

    Coil does not = for hardcore players only.

    A large majority of the player base PUG Coil, because they can and still complete it with ease and lack there of any form of communication.

    Coil gear out weighs Myth gear, so your point about Myth gear being useless in 2.1 is moot as it already is pointless in 2.0. Myth gear only serves a purpose of filler gear for if you are unlucky with drop rates in Coil.

    Most will not cry because they are already expecting new content = new gears. That has been a standard in every gear/vertical based progression MMO.

    You're implying everyone is doing Coil and getting gear out of it.
    Most people are stuck in ilvl 70 gear and no group. For those people (who are the majority of endgame players), Crystal Tower will fill the gap (ilvl 80) and possibly make Coil more doable.
    Those people will get challenged by the 10 ilvl higher Crystal Tower, and the accessibility of DF makes it way more attractive than you think. It'll be "trivial" to those who got lucky with Allagan drops (I honestly doubt anyone is in full ilvl 90, though), but they're the minority. Releasing higher content than Coil would make it unnaccessible for almost everyone.

    We're also getting the hardmode dungeons, which we don't know what'll drop. So, after AK, CM, Prae and AK, we'll have three more dungeons, and finally Coil. The progression will get fixed up (no longer farm a ilvl 55 instance, jump to ilvl 90 Coil).

    No I never implied any such thing, I have been pretty clear to point out in great detail that not everyone is successfully getting lucky with coil drops.

    The rest of your post has been addressed several times over by multiple people and does not need further regurgitation.

    I don t know the OP, but honestly, who do you think you are to tell someone that he is not qualified to criticize aka bring his feedback on the game? Do people like you really believe that leveling 1 job.... or 6 is in anyway bringing content to the game? your real ingame experience, you only get it on the first class you level, others are just a constant grind of content (here mostly fates, pretty much a cheap version of GW2 dynamic events) that you already cleared many many times.
    When it comes to crafting... it s definitly not soöething for everyone, sitting in a city clearing your daily leves or buying/crafting hq equips to get more exp isn t exactly what most ppl would define as funny. I see a lot of players in ff14 all proud of having so many different classes to 50... 90% of them being completly unskilled tho, coz not specialized in anything.

    You know exploring the game content doesn t requiere you to level billions of classes repeating billions of times the same quests / dungeon or what so ever...

    Makes me more qualified then you if you want to play that game, also, if you started from the beginning and read every single page in this thread, you would see we went over this already.

    Grinding crafts that require almost no effort or skill and is purely based upon RNG for success that you can program with a Logitech mouse or keyboard doesn't make you an expert at anything I am sorry to say.

    Sorry for the regurgitation, we did address the whole issue many pages ago.
