It's standard practice in raiding environments in other MMOs to establish loot rules prior to starting a run. For most static groups, these loot rules go beyond just "roll need on what you need", and a master looter system is absolutely vital. I really don't understand why we don't have it.

Incidentally, if the guy agreed to the loot rules (that the other BLM would have first dibs on a particular drop) prior to starting the run, then yea - it's wrong for a person to roll on an item. This is how loot distribution has always worked. @.@

Yes.. That's how it works for static groups.. However you're picking up a random person. This person is using his only run for the week to be help you get a chance at getting other loot and him getting something for himself. There is absolutely no reason a random would run a turn with you other than for loot.. 100k compared to a BiS or damn close to is nothing. The closest crafted gear which would have to be 5x melds would be damn near 5mil at least on my server. As soon as you pick up a random person you should expect people to want the gear that drops or they wouldn't go.
Again, if the person agreed to the loot rules, then they agreed to the loot rules. It doesn't matter if you think the stipulation was stupid.
