This is the first game in which I MUST use a software (battleping) to get over the lag/delay. I'm even in a different continent now (I live in Norway and now I'm in Brazil for more 2 months at work) and I need the software to not have any delay. In Norway I have 30MB internet and here I'm using 10MB alone, no wi-fi and no download on the side. People in my Fc from England, Netherlands and Ukraine (to mention some examples) complain about the lag/delay, people with whom I've been RAIDING for over two years since our old game, now they also have to either use the same software as me or not do content (dungeons). It's frustrating for people who are used to one shot Raid Bosses dying for aoe's.

Don't come and tell me there is no problem with the game. Specially if you live in USA, as both EU and NA servers are located in CANADA.

A 3rd party app can fix your issue instantly, and you STILL blame SE?
How does that even remotely make sense?

Please, explain, as in my head when a kitchen is full of rats, asking for a new waiter, on rollerblades, will not make my meal any better.

I'm not pretending I have any technical knowledge. I never needed any sort of latency reducer for the other games I played. Before FFXIV I used to play RIFT, was main tank with a solid raid schedule. Never had any problem but the eventual connection issues everybody's subject to. Then I come to FFXIV and have this issue. I call my internet provider, spend half an hour making tests with the tech support, testing other games, downloads and everything and they say my connection seems to be alright.

If i were bashing on the game for silly reasons like "nothing to do" or "i want more end game content" I'd understand people saying the problem's all on my side. But I honestly can't seem to being able to blame anybody but SE. Now, I like this game enough to have subbed for months and even subscribe to third party app in order to improve MY QoL, but it doesn't mean I won't keep asking for some fix from SE's side. I'm sorry if it offend you, as it seems to not be an issue you're facing in-game, but for me and many others Eu player (can't talk about NA, as the only NA we have in the FC are exactly the ones who NEVER have any problem with lag/delay) it's very bothersome.

If he's having to use a 3rd party program to reduce latency then it falls on SE and the routes that are being taken to get to the server. Its within SEs power to find the most efficient routes to be taken to reach their servers.

SE doesn't control the routing outside of their network. It's your ISP that has a lot of the control over the routes.

It's totally within their ability to they themselves call up providers and talk to them about nodes making it difficult to reach their servers and get said providers to fix the problem. Yes they don't control the routing but yes they can help do something about it by being proactive themselves.

Little problems with game now compared to beta, however there's a big problem where servers are located for EU. Harder battles such as titan or coil don't give a lot of reaction time so I can see players with higher latency having problems.

There are three west coast players in my group too that are avoiding attacks fine.
