With whatever happens in this update regarding the battle system... remember this, that we as a collective community asked for this by asking it to be changed. We have our majority to thank if it goes bad, or good. Not SE.

We say this, and we know this. But everyone's still going to blame SE at the end of the day, and it makes me die a little inside.
at least 1 person wont like it
and that person will scream bloody murder and make 1000+ posts to make it seem like more people hate it regardless

But this is not so. The king is not bound to answer the particular endings of his soldiers, the father of his son, nor the master of his servant; for they purpose not their death, when they purpose their services.

It's ok then for us to complain at SE for making a poor game upon release. Yet it's not ok for us to be blamed when we ask for something and SE delivers, but we still don't like it?
If I buy a house and the developer builds it to MY specifications, move in and realize it sucks because I don't like it ... I can't call the developer up and say, 'rebuild my house because I don't like it.' The ONLY way this would fly is if I re-paid the developer to do it a second time.
Basically if a product is built to your request, and you still don't like it, you can't blame it's producer.
Physic, you most certainly should blame those who wanted a new system if it does turn out to be sub-par.

Except that past "remake the battle system" we didn't give SE any specifications. If it fails as a battle system yet again, this would make it SE's third try to get it right for this game and they would be to blame. I'll be honest with everyone here and I'm sure other's are in the same position I'm in, if this battle system and content don't do it for me I'm taking a hike and probably never looking back.If I buy a house and the developer builds it to MY specifications, move in and realize it sucks because I don't like it ... Technically it's their first try at redoing the battle system. The Alpha system was thrown in last minute because there wasn't a battle system in the game and they said it was a placeholder to begin with.Except that past "remake the battle system" we didn't give SE any specifications. It was a placeholder sure but it was a fully developed place holder, they built it from the ground up, found that it was boring and (long before alpha started) they readjusted it to what we have today. This would literally make it their third try at the end of the day, 3 tries at a battle system when they could have got it right at the conceptual phase and been working on something else.
I asked for content, the battle system was workable. If the new system is wack i will blame SE AND all the people who thought auto attack was god.
But honestly, i dont think that many people will complain, Its prolly going to be simpler and less involved. Even after all this time many people dont excel at the current battle system, maybe complexity involvement and direct control, are not what most players want.
I just hope they dont completely ax or nerf basic attacks, pug without light strike, heavy strike, flurry and pummel is not going to be great.
