Yeah agree and it's 1 reasion why they wen't with eggi summons for SMN instead of a actual size summon but of course they give us another excuse why they coulden't.

Ya my memory could be off, but I am 99% positive the FC summon idea came even before summoner was introduced. iirc the initial idea was only one fc on a server could capture a primal or something but once they used it, another could capture it.

This was back when Tanaka was still in charge and had said ffxiv wasn't going to have any pet classes (guess they hated trying to balance them in 11). But when Yoshi-P took over they did a poll on what class did people want back, and summoner won so.....they had to think of something else for them to summon.
