If the fact the PS3 will at some point effect the game in a way bothers people, why not go play one of the many other MMO's that will be obviously so much better as they won't be held back.

For all those bashing the PS3 version, let's thank the fact that ALL of the RMT activity, bots and hacking can only be coming from PC users. Pompous idiots.
Whether there is a limitation or not from having the game run on PS3, here are some things to remember:
1. SE is a company that develop games for consoles mainly.(All PC users try to remember this first).
2. FFXI had the same argument and that game runs for more than a decade (literately more than 10 years), and still SE didn't stop their support to players who run it on game consoles, Seekers of Adoulin"latest Expansion 2013" was released on PS2 but only in japan. (IMO Bringing the same argument here is just sad).
3. MMOs all about the people who play them, the more the better (generally speaking), gives the player more options to chose who to play with and make friends with. (lets not ask SE to separate or cut a good portion of the player base which can hurt the game in the long run).
P.S: I'm a PC gamer if that matters although it shouldn't. So lets stop the hatred towards PS3 players and enjoy the game.

*The memory and process for the PS3 versions UI is near it’s limit, therefore we are working to create some memory and processing space by removing excess data from existing UI process, and going through trial and error process to try and get space for the focus target.
(Basically this is what we known as optimization)
sad... dont you think?
Limitations THIS EARLY
Releasing the game for the PS3 was A HUGE, HUGE mistake.
Nobody said that... we all said "Hey remember in FFXI when PS2 limited the game? Yea you think they would learn from the past" Uhhhhh doi!
We all knew FFXIV:ARR has a PS3 version at launch. We also knew that the ps3 has outdated hardware in comparison to modern day pc's. If anyone has a problem with that, please pick any other MMORPG and enjoy your ps3-free environment and stop bitching here. In the mean time, I am gonna enjoy my time with this multi-platform game.
I think anyone that is so blind to think a game can't benefit from the extra support (money) the PS3 players bring in needs to stop using the internet. The more people playing means the better support and longevity an MMO will have. You can whine and cry all you want about it but do it to someone who cares. That means you secret club of HePCman WoPS3man Haters Club. The rest of us enjoy playing with people without care to what equipment they play on. An MMO is more about the social aspect of gaming more then how many machines it can break with it's graphics and mechanics. If there was no social aspect to this game (or any other MMO) they would just be single player games.

Current stuff up till whatever they have planned till 2.2 and 2.3 is fine and will work on the PS3.
However, if they added new contents which has more UI, PC can handle it fine without a problem but they have to make it work on the PS3 as well, if the PS3 version can't get the UI working due to the amount of memory already used up on the UI they can't do it, thus pulling PC version from also having that content since the PS3 can't do it.
BUT, they have enough room planned for the alliance UI so when some UI's are not being used on that specific content, they can use that memory space to bring in the new content UI, so all-in-all it's still possible. It's just going to be harder for the devs to decide to how to get the content and UI's working. Only PS3 pulling PC versions leg might be the part it's going to take that much longer to get anything new out, since they have to make sure it works on all platform. Once the PS4 comes to play that another workload for them also (which I assume is easier than PS3 vs PC workload).
