I think Auto attack opens battle up to become more reactionary and skill based. Mashine the attack key is engaging and all but it does little to be actually tactfull.

Good for you, but the point I'm illustrating is no one (including SE) seems to be able to describe the new battle system or battle improvements with any other word than "auto-attack" or comparitive words which are dependent on who's comparing and what they are comparing to - like "faster" and "more difficult" and "more rewarding" and "more strategy."
I'm assuming the new battle system is going to be better.
I'm not giving them even a 1-handed golf clap for how well they have "communicated" these massive changes to the player base. We know next to nothing.

I'm afraid that's how it works in this community. SE can post vague things like, "more rewarding" "improved" or "adjusted" amidst a lot of vague wording, and much of the community translates it as "fixed", "completed", "well-done", or any other number of glowing adjectives and specific explanations. People read into it what they want to read into it, and they'll argue it as if it were cold, hard fact.Good for you, but the point I'm illustrating is no one (including SE) seems to be able to describe the new battle system or battle improvements with any other word than "auto-attack" or comparitive words which are dependent on who's comparing and what they are comparing to - like "faster" and "more difficult" and "more rewarding" and "more strategy."

This has been par for the course since the beta, where we've been getting these vague responses from SE that tell us next to nothing. Communication is not one of the company's strong points with FFXIV, and if you look outside the SE community, those without vested interest in the game will confirm that (there's still articles coming out lamenting the state of the game and SE's vague descriptions of the future of it). But the fanbase will darn well tell you communication is a strong point, no matter how much evidence there is to the opposite.
