    When will we see these again?

    When will we see the Shadow Eaters and when can I smack one in the face with my Axe?

    I had completely forgotten about these as it has been so long since I had finished the storyline so far, but they look pretty menacing and would be a welcome change from dodo's, puk's and sheep.

    Do you think they have something to do with the deaspected crystals and the turn of events we may see in the near future?

    Anyways, IIRC the correct name for these entities race is Ascian and it's catalogued as "Attackable mob" on YG database.

    no, not if Yoshi has anything to do with it. He is really trying to get a hold on targeting and putting Full and light text to everything. Next: Full inventory text will pop out when you have no more space in your inventory.

    Time to find a new game, I suppose. When it's time for content addition all mobs will return. FFXI you fight every mob present in the game's files, so the only reason XIV wouldn't do this is if they're that adamant on trying to not be like FFXI.

    I highly doubt we will see those guys. If we were to see them again then they wouldve appeared again in the story somehow. Also like LoLo said the Dev team is set on making this a visual experience not a game playing one.

    Again, prove that XI doesn't use every monster they've created for it because their previous 2 MMOs kind of proves that's a false statement to say "we won't see something again", especially FF wise which is known for reusing monsters.

    They not only do not use all mobs in the dats, but they do not use whole areas in the dats. There are areas that you can only visit if you do a mission with it in there. Like the Market Wards, and several islands that you only visit during missions. This game is in a poor state. I can't believe they have created stuff that you can never again visit, unless you are on a mission that requires the area.
