    well this is my take on letter IX.
    But good things come to those who wait! Dungeons designed for ranks 30 and 50 are on their way, and 1.18 will see the start of our reworking of the battle system
    ok nowhere did it say we were gonna get dungeons in 1.18, but rather said its on the way and 1.18 will be battle adjustments. then he goes on talk about the encampments .
    From top to bottom, those are encampments in the Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, and Ul'dah regions. In this way, we’re going to gradually increase the number of public areas with quest hubs. We also have some beast tribe versions in the works, but it’s looking like those will have to wait until 1.19.
    so from this I gather we will definatly be getting encampments in 1.18 and beast tribes will more than likely wait until 1.19.
    Come mid-May, the vanguards of the Grand Companies will be the first to brave Eorzea’s newly discovered dungeons.
    This is where things get too vague, he said in mid-may so by that I would have assumed we would have already had grand companies.

    Sorry he got your hopes up. I hoped it would be an in-game event. Basically, the first explorers of the dungeons are going to be representatives of the Grand Companies and their testimonies available to the players on Lodestone. (Yay). Actually, I like the whole world concept they are building with Lodestone "immersion" updates, in game events, Alfgar & the GM-run Prophet. It's all pretty cool, but disappointing when you're expecting something more.

    personally I'm not partial to an auto attack feature i kinda like actually pressing something lol it makes me feel like I'm playing something rather than waiting for one to kill the other. But with a higher difficulty level it will be interesting to see how it will all come together.

    So what you're saying is - the only thing you DO know about the battle system is something that doesn't thrill you? You've been waiting 6 months for its implementation. All kinds of other content updates are on hold while they work on it. This is all you can say about it?

    But you are applauding the open lines of communication.

    Do I get this right? I just want to make sure.

    More than anything, I'm looking forward to the Battle System changes. Moreover because it'll be an important change that will determine if this game is going the right way (meaning: if it'll be still a lot of fun).

    After the Battle System changes, of course the new dungeon(s). I'm expecting something badass!

    I am generally excited about the new battle changes particularly with the addition of jobs in conjunction with classes. The new job system is what most excites me about the battle changes and the uniqueness of jobs. I am in favor of matsui's overall battle plan (excepting auto attack) lol.

    His battle plan talked about extraneous things. Job System is it's own system. Yes, Jobs engage in battle, thus they are part of a battle and I'm excited about jobs, too - but it doesn't explain to me at all how the battle itself changes. All I know is "Auto-Attack" and "Faster" (presumably than XI, but I'm not sure if a dev said that or a player interpreted it).

    More difficult is a matter of opinion, wouldn't you say? Unless they explain to me what it's more difficult than and how they plan to make it more difficult I can't really trust that I'll actually find it more difficult until I play it.

    Basically, I know next to nothing about it. The Battle Blueprint told me more about the Job System (related to, but not exactly) than it did the actual changes to the battle itself - which was great. I got excited.

    I think Auto attack opens battle up to become more reactionary and skill based. Mashine the attack key is engaging and all but it does little to be actually tactfull.
