Right? Some people just can't see pass their own noses and always resort to name calling.Oh no, we actually do other things the game provides, how terrible of us to do so! Clearly it was wrong for SE to include these other systems and only provide raids raids raids as fast as the sleep deprived can get to them. Never mind the balance, where's Yiazmat's Mother!
It's too early to tell if this game is declining or not because:
1) No one can provide actual statistics about the retention.
2) http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/10/...g-in-december/ They just got another 500k accounts on top of their previous million. We know there's at least 500k playing the game, but then you have the other 1 mil and probably at least 250k of them are still actively playing. so all together, at least 750k are active. ( All speculation)
That's why when people say the game is dead this early on ( 2 months) without proof is baffling to me personally.
About the 6 month mark, we will see how the game is really fairing.
I think you missed the part where they gained 500k sales in the last month alone. Maybe the newer people are just quieter?
This doesn't count bots which is probably a rather large number. Accounts since launch could technically mean P4 but I assume it doesn't. Out of that million it's not counting how many people never chose to sub and getting their free 30 days and have since quit or people that unsubbed already so the whole million thing can't really be trusted. I would say the actual number is easily below 500k. Even if it isn't, most of the people looking for a good PvE raiding environment will move on by the end of the year probably even further dwindling that number. It's been 3 months, P4 was release for all intents and purposes.
As much as I hate "counting" bots into the equation, They still have to "buy" a code don't they? Sure they can unsub and make a new account, but they would need a new code ( meaning buying the game) to login.
They are just as active as "Normal players" being active, it's just they are doing things illegally.
That aside, I feel like people are jumping the gun on the "Game is declining" type threads. Without bots, I say normally active by 6 month mark, should be around where SE was targeting in the first place 250-300k players. In the end, it's good news for SE.
As long as SE is making money off of anybody ( including bots) then really the bots are certainly apart in the equation.
P4 was P4. You can't be selective and manipulate things to benefit your own argument. It's not even 2 full months yet since ARR release. Just over 2 months if we want to include EA, which we really shouldn't because that's not officially the "release".This doesn't count bots which is probably a rather large number. It's ridiculous to expect people to stay, regardless of content availability. People will ALWAYS leave for reasons unrelated to content. Likewise, people will join for their own reasons. Even if it were under 500k active post-sub players, that's already a huge success to SE, given their low expectations from the beginning.
Not really. CT would do good for gearing up Alts.fact is SE messed up ... they skipped ilevel 80 gear which was supposed to be CT which was supposed to be in at launch ( they have stated this)
but they thought it was too hard and kept it back ... heres the problem with doin it now though people dont need ilevel80 gear to do coil we have passed 80 and went from 70 - 90 ... so adding ilevel80 gear now is just a waste of player and dev time.
Are you an internet e-thug?
I laugh cause you fake. CX
When I still playing WoW, I didnt notice that Blizzard has lost 3 millions subscribers between Catalysm to Pandaria. What makes you think that you can notice a decline of this game? The game started off good but it just took a nose dive into the boring, easy and dull zone. From what I am reading on forums and when I last played the game it seems FF14 is starting to die. Square might say they have a ton of subs but alot of the player base is just not playing there accounts and waiting for there subs to end. Its bound to happen when you make a game that plays exactly like every other mmo on the market.
want a quick picture of the games health? if you happen to be in a social FC that recruited lots of players and didn't have staff culling the old log out for room you can look at the member list and see just how many people have not logged in the last 2 weeks +.
if the number of people not logging in for that long or longer is greater than the number who have logged in the server you are on is losing players. (yes i know some of those will be alts.) doesn't matter for this.
also try signing in at really off time for your server and go to the three big fate zones and check out the visible population.
during the free month after launch dead time was still packed with players on shiva now we can do Svana's flight with 10-12 people and thats almost half the total population in the entire zone. Mordona (sp) is just as empty and the cerulium (sp) plant doesn't boast many either. dead time is usually where you see a decline in players first. rush hour hides it better. because you can't really see a lack till its a very large number have gone.
I doubt that with 2.2 new content is coming that is higher than Coil.
Sure, new content is coming. But also Coil get new turns, making Coil still the highest content.
