I still get a short queue to log on every evening, so I'm going to say "my server seems unaffected at this time".
This is not my experience but maybe my MMO history differs from yours ♥
I've been playing since BETA and I'm still having fun. There're flaws, yeah, but the game just re-released and I expect improvements in many things based on CRITICS, not insults or unreal demands from users. And the forums, yes, there're a lot of "harbringers of doom" that think the game's dying but it's not, it's their self centered vision that if it doesn't satisfy their needs, then it's the worst game ever, yadayadayada and it's going to sink. If you see it objectively, there're a lot of MMO on the market. If I don't like a MMO, I move to another that satisfies my needs. When I quit GW2 it was like "Meh, this game was good at the begining" and I didn't post it on the forum, I just moved on looking for another MMO. That's it.
And when they include the PvP system, I'll bet ya that there will be a lot of threads saying "The PvP system is dull/broken", "PvP ruined this game", "The PvP is not as good compared to X", and so on. People will never be satisfied with anything. A near example for that, it's the auto-disconnect system. People were begging SE to include it and when they finally did it, people complained about it. Customers ARE demanding. They bash each other because they either defend or attack the product.
show us your proof other than a few people in forums put up or you know the rest.
i guess you left out the fact people have
jobs
school
family
and gaming is not always a 24 hour a day thing.
Stats until you have them all you have is impressions. That goes for both sides. Based off the time you play in the zone your in you feel there are less people could be true or not until SE comes out with numbers we shall never know.
No, it's crowded. I walk down the street in Ul'dah by the summoning bell and there's quite literally *dozens* of people right there just grinding away at crafts. I can't go anywhere without seeing other players, usually several other players. I'm not seeing fewer people, I'm seeing more. I can't sign on during prime time without having to wait for space to open up. It's crowded.

What decline?
Have you considered that it looks crowded because the people who are logged in are standing in town because there is very little to do?No, it's crowded. So how about them 40-80minute+ DF timers for anyone not a Healer or Tank? When the game actually was crowded you got near instant queue times regardless of what role you played, since a lot of people were actually doing certain dungeons. Even Ifrit takes awhile as Healer/Tank on some clusters.
Damn you Rokien!!!!
