I don't think people understand that with the repeating stuff, they we're able to create a huge single zone, with different monsters at each crossing.

Now thats just not possible anymore.
Everything has to be "unique"

You mean five, uninspired zones with clusters of mobs sprinkled around the lack of any landmarks to differentiate them from other parts of the same zone.
