OK, I'll humor you. I'm opposed to the idea all of your 'pros' would make this a single player game. There would be literally no reason to rely on other people for anything. Why do you want an MMO to be a single player game? Are you that bad at it?
Interesting, but I don't consider trading with other people as playing with them, it has a very impersonal feel to it.
Might as well be buying from a vendor as a marketboard.
And there would still be dungeons, and fates, and primals and FC's which gives plenty of multiplayer action.
You seem very hostile, do you not like people who maybe have ideas different than your own, does it threaten you in some way?

I don't like people pretending bad ideas are good. You're basically suggesting that there be no meaningful player interaction. Why are you even playing an MMO?Interesting, but I don't consider trading with other people as playing with them, it has a very impersonal feel to it.

I am suggesting that trading is not meaningful interaction.
But I will take Misteyes comment to note, that it's player experienced based and some people might find it meaningful while others not so much.
I guess then a con would be that it could alienate a certain portion of the playerbase that simply enjoys trading, buying and selling, for whatever reasons.
It's just a shame that some people have sinister reasons for their enjoyment of such activities.
If the other responses are anything to go by, I think this "portion" of the playerbase is much larger than you seem to believe.
The fact you're saying it's a bad idea is simply your opinion on it. Doesn't mean you need to be rude just because you do not agree. I happen to like the idea, even if it needs some fine tuning. I for one hate RMT's, and that goes for the buyers as well. But i guess the buyers would be the ones who would most likely hate this idea. If giving up gil gets rid of RMT's (buyers/sellers) for good i'm 100% behind it.
Giving up Gil does not get rid of RMTs... They also offer other 'services' such as:The fact you're saying it's a bad idea is simply your opinion on it. Leveling
Relic Weapon/Clearance
Equipment
Crystals/etc.
You would have to give all that up to. Including no option for progression (since they do offer that as a service).
The issue is not 'gil', the issue is the desire to obtain 'something' with no effort, or willingness to pay 'money' to obtain this 'something'. Only when there is nothing to obtain will RMT go away.
I'm not sure how fun this world would be with no levels, equipment, or anything to obtain. Or if it was all immediately given to us with no effort.
