So you never found our started a successful wvwvw guild, eh. It was pretty awful alone, no question there.I love your tone. You speak as though I care even a small bit about that forgotten disaster.
I also love how you claim that a lack of content is, within itself, a plethora of content. (And you say I'm the stupid one.)
GW2 was a game designed around the hope that people would enjoy doing nothing but running around in the world doing absolutely nothing. That's why it was a flop.
WvWvW was nothing more than a one-sided collection of poor souls trying to find fun in that boring-as-hell game.
I also couldn't give a damn less what they plan on implementing into that disaster. It's trash now, and it'll be trash afterwards.
But still, boring is an opinion. GW2 any sort of failure or disaster though?
You...clearly haven't researched how well Anet/NCSoft have been doing with that, have you. Do it. And then call WoW forgotten.
Then I stand correct, however you fail to mention that FF 14 is cross platform thus a massive console base to draw upon while GW2 is PC exclusive atm; that is a pretty solid number of people still playing it. By no means is GW2 flop, no matter what you say it's busy as ever a year later; a proper comparison should be 3 months launch of both games and I am sure GW2 might be close. Not even close but to be fair FFXIV is still new which means it might experience a drop off as most new mmo's do at some point. Guild Wars is another mmo I play. According to their recent data there's around 2.5 million unique logins each week. FFXIV gets 617,000 unique logins each day. That puts FFXIV at over 4,300,000 each week. Nearly double that number.
I already blew apart half of them. You just want to decry the lack of PvP, mainly, and that's fine. I don't much are about PvP myself, but hell, they're adding PvP soon, so it doesn't matter. The rest of what you have to say is mostly nonsense.
Basically, what you have left are these, and they're already coming:
- You want PvP, which is coming in 2.1 but probably should have been in at release.
- You want more endgame content, which is fine, and more is coming. However, there is already quite a bit compared to most MMOs at launch, and it's huge compared to what TOR had.
- You want vanity gear, which... well, I tend to agree, but it's not a deal-breaker for a whole lot of people.
- You want shorter DPS queue times, which can only come with more tank and healer jobs. Every MMO has this problem, though, and it's mainly because players like yourself want to play the glamorous big-number-generators instead of the workhorse battle-managers. It was going to be so much worse before they got SCH in at launch, and I whined endlessly about that problem on the beta forums. I also called SCH as a healer when it leaked simply because I knew that the lack of healers would have completely killed the game. I'm sure Yoshi realizes what is needed and will prioritize development of classes and jobs with appropriate roles.
- You want an alternate quest-oriented way of leveling alternate classes, like daily quests, which are being added. (As a side-note, they really need to fix DoW leve rewards; they're roughly a third of what they should be. I suspect that will be coming as well in 2.1 along with things like the achievement rebalance.)
For the list of invalid stuff, you have
- You want server transfers, which is terribly premature. Server load needs to be balanced, and the existence of legacy servers means that there has to be time for newer servers to catch up. The addition of two newer-still servers means that it has to be delayed. It will come in due time, and it simply cannot reasonably be in right now.
- You want the game to shower you with gil in a terrible-design way. Not happening.
- You want puddings to shower you with weapons in a terrible-design way. Not happening.
- You hate crafting, despite never having tried it.
- You hate selling things to crafters, despite never having tried it.
Is the OP going to come back to support his standings, brag about pvp while not even bothering to improve his own character more and discuss
issues that has been already mentioned...consistently in the forums?
lol @ the ridiculous repair fees comment. You should have seen what they were when the first wave of people hit 50.
OP has not even done end game content aka Coil.
I suppose I can't get off stating my personal opinion of the game as fact. I'd be no better than the OP at that point. To put it like this, GW2 had nothing for me.So you never found our started a successful wvwvw guild, eh. It was pretty awful alone, no question there.
But still, boring is an opinion. GW2 any sort of failure or disaster though?

WvWvW was fun in (maybe) 30-minute bursts. Maybe a bit more if your server was the dominant server for the week. To me it was nothing more than one big PvP tug-of-war match, but completely one-sided.
Running around getting map-completion felt more like a chore than fun. There was nothing to look forward to upon reaching any later points of the game. You could literally do the same thing at level 1, that the max-level people were doing. At no point in that game did I ever feel like the time I spent leveling had any form of payoff. If I walked into a level 20 zone at max-level, I was instantly level 20 again, and could get my ass handed to me by level 20 mobs...again. That feeling of perpetual vulnerability might have been thrilling to some, but it killed any form of accomplishment one would expect to get.
As for what to do in the game, I simply couldn't find it. After getting my gear, WvWvWing until I was sick of it, and clearing maps for a few days, I was just done with the game. It had nothing left for me, other than leveling another character (which I wasn't going to even bother with).
@OP ok you have some DL therefore you have done CM, and an Ifrit's book so you have beaten Ifrit, and the demon block from AK, but what about Garuda, Titan, Relic, Coil (of which Turn 5 has not been legitimately beaten, and the ones that beat it said it was not legitimate) if there is nothing to do you should have all level 50s all relic weapons and beaten every content, which it's obvious you haven't.
Clearly every new MMO must have at least 8 years worth of content in order to be viable. /end sarcasm
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
