Unsustained non-point by HoroBoro. Three topic remains very relevant, unless you would like to take a position of untenable certainty that ARR couldn't possibly sink to the bottom of the internet. ...Again.
A system is not made good by its potential; amazing potentials are wasted, unrecognized and unutilized everywhere every single day. Potential is a measure for nothing. It is the superfluous 'might have been' when taking what is and is not to account. It does nothing; it means nothing unless acted upon and the time to act upon it is always now. Not tomorrow, not 'Soon™' - Now.
TL;DR - Do it right or don't bother.

Necroing a dead thread to perpetuate long dead arguments is a sign of desperation, even among those who constantly seek confirmation bias and vindication of already debunked argument.
I'm beginning to wonder if it should be suggested to auto-lock threads that are inactive for more than 30 days unless an Community rep or Moderator posts. Because this is getting rather pathetic.
To me: Major flaw: Mythic Design = Blatant favoritism to one faction as seen in previous games (DAoC ToA and Warhammer) and it's ability to transform the good into ugly.
SWTOR (The lead game designer hated PVP and included it due to orders, and probably assigned the task to a junior designer. Result = one of the best PVP systems upon launch, seriously). Then seeing the success the PVP system was after launch he decided to take the matter with his hands...
There was a favoritism towards the Empire. A lot of players knew that due to the long beta. Upon launch there was already a massive faction unbalance. The reasons for a lot of players to have chosen Empire were several. Besides the appeal of being evil and shooting lightning Mythic added the option of not showing Sith corruption. So you could be very very cool and evil and still look beautiful.
1. The game had much more graphical detail and appeal on Empire. Jedi Kira Carsen, Jedi Knight companion, had a random in game quote that translated this: "Have you seen what the Sith are wearing these days? It's like all the fashion designers in the galaxy joined the Dark side." and this could be seeing in game, not only the outfits, but also ship designs, on the inside and outside, were more appealing on the Empire Side, so that the atmosphere was even lighter.
2. Game classes were not equal on both sides, they were kind of mirrored but Empire classes had a slight edge, like Force Lightning not having a travel time as opposed to Project (you could use a defensive ability or stealth when you saw that boulder coming towards you and mitigate or avoid the damage completely), Operative stun did not root its user in place during execution like the Scoundrel's counterpart.
3. Alderaan warzone started with laser cannons pointed towards Republic's Ship and one of the turrets fired twice upon capping but only when Empire capped it (this issue was reported for a very very long time and remained since launch till I quit 4 months later but when in voidstar one of the gates gave an edge to the republic it was immediately patched).
4. Instead of making players on the most populated faction (empire mostly on almost all servers) wait more between PVP matches they implemented intra faction PVP matches: result the lower populated faction was the one with queues while waiting for enough players to start a match.
5. Ilum fiasco, without a rollback, Empire players overwhelmed Alliance players in the open PVP area, Alliance Turrets were destructable and allowed the empire players to camp the graveyard, players couldn't leave the zone, logging out wouldn't remove the character, PVP valor was distributed evenly across all raid groups that a single member damaged the dieing player. That rewarded the Empire players that farmed it in the releasing day the very best PVP gear effortlessly. PVP between Empire and Republic became horrible due to gear disparity. A lot of players defected to the Empire and could still PVP because of instant PVP matches while Republic would go thru lengthy queues while waiting for a group to form. This reflected into PVE where on the Republic Side there was barely anyone to do anything. On the Empire side, PVP discussions started during intra faction contests continued in general chat and jerks were even more motivated to role play...
6. Waa waa waa nerf this nerf that on forums. Sobs were heard and tenderly treated. Class specs were nerfed for completely insane reasons like hybrid dps specs that only focused on DPS talents were nerfed to do less damage than pure specs that focused on a single tree with utility talents.
I then left, I lasted more than everyone in my 34 members guild, even though I wasn't really affected by the nerfs but I can't stand the inability of a company to properly address issues and worse of it do it on an unreasonable basis.
