This is somewhat inaccurate. The reason blizzard obsessed on arena was because it was trying to break into e-sports hoping to cash in on things like promotions, tournaments and so on. It was money thing; they didn't really care for the PvP'ers.

Hey, it's been over a page and a half. Isn't it about time for the OP to increase the font size again? Maybe use italics -and- bold, or maybe even an underline? Can we get a double-bold?
I for one won't be satisfied until he's shouting about the glories of TERA (lol) in 154-pt font, italicized -and- underlined.
"Once the landslide has begun, it is too late for the pebbles to vote."
I still get a kick that he continues to spout the same line that pretty much says "Don't ignore the game's faults!" while ignoring everyone who points out all his "complaints" are being fixed. Now, I do admit this game has faults but he's literally complaining about crap that they already stated is being changed, implemented, done away with, etc in 2.1Hey, it's been over a page and a half. Probably should give this thread a rest.
SERIOUSLEH! I R SO COOL, LIKE TOTALLEH!Seriously, with the way things are progressing, it won't be long until this game follows the footsteps of SWTOR:
- No PvP upon launch (even SWTOR had PvP on Launch)
- Little Post-Game Stuff to do (AK,CP Runs, Long Duty Finder Queue, Tomes Farming)
Very boring and repetitive stuff.
- Little incentive to do a max level alt class, leveling them is entirely dependent
Upon mindless Fates grinding and minuscule leve quests, seriously why shouldn't
former low lvl quests reset for a low level alt?
- Crafting is very boring and inconsequential and a majority of players have no interest
In wasting their time crafting wherein they could be doing other more fun stuff
- Worthless monster drops that give nothing but stupid crafting materials
...
Joke aside, relax and enjoy the show.
If people feel as you say, "Crafting is very boring and inconsequential and a majority of players have no interest
In wasting their time crafting wherein they could be doing other more fun stuff", then why do I see hundreds of people in every city...oh I don't know crafting frantically?
If you can't make gil with crafting then maybe you need more work on figuring out what to craft. All of my crafts are mid to low level, yet in the last 36 hours I went from 500 gil to nearly 50k. You just have to look at the Market Board and the answers are there...
No more cast bars for Bard! Thank you, Yoshi-P! All hail our lord and savior!

To expand on that, with a single level 50 craft I can put a single item on the market boards and 2 hours later have 42k... Expand on the idea that crafters sell lots of items, I can make HQ version of all the crafter gear, stick them on the AH, and most likely within a day or 2 have a good 400k.If people feel as you say, "Crafting is very boring and inconsequential and a majority of players have no interest

And I hope you remember that most of the things you listed won't be impressed on people when they first play.I hope Square Enix remembers that first impressions last
While I certainly can't wait for PvP, few if any people are buying the game specifically because of it. So that shouldn't take away from anybody's first impression.
The amount of content available at endgame at an MMO's launch is irrelevant to someone seeing the game on the shelf or just starting out, so again, not a problem for first impressions.
There are vanity items- There is gear without much statistical value that looks good, and there are vanity pets. That's a pretty good start if you ask me.
Bottom line, you can't expect any MMO to have all the features of a years-old MMO right on day 1.
Haven't played an MMO that had server transfers on launch, and it's generally intentional.- No server transfers upon launch
Little incentive to level another class? What? You have EVERY incentive to level another class- it makes you more versatile. So what if leveling your 2nd class is a little less easy than the first? That still doesn't remove the benefits of doing it.- Little incentive to do a max level alt class, leveling them is entirely dependent
Upon mindless Fates grinding and minuscule leve quests, seriously why shouldn't
former low lvl quests reset for a low level alt?
What, are regular monsters supposed to drop darklight gear? Name a game that has regular monsters drop cool stuff. I can't think of one.- Worthless monster drops that give nothing but stupid crafting materials
We aren't "white knighting." We are countering your arguments which have little or no merit.
You're actually wrong here. PvP is going to be a lot more than a "trivial token feature." There are multiple PvP events in the works, there are special actions earnable in PvP, armor sets, the works. No WORLD PvP does not mean that the PvP that does exist will be trivial.Originally Posted by Azazela
I agree on many points, but your point No.1 PVP. Doesn't really hold any weight, this is a 100% pure PVE game, and it will never have PvP outside of a trivial token feature
If PvP matter that much to you, this is the wrong game. Sure they will implement some sort of PvP, but it will never be the main focus (thank god).

I agree with that. Open up all those story missions are replay options when you switch to an alt class. Fate grinding is 'the suck'.
