Back then I've tried to count how many shards I could get within 10 minutes, that's around 80 shards. 1 hours = 480 Shards.

In my server it's a shard usually valued 40 Gills , Keep farming shards for 52 hours, and Pop you will have 1 million gills to your pocket

Well then again this is not generating gills, but taking gills from other players.

It's taking money from crafters, who in turn take their money from leves. So yeah you can make money off of them, they are generating money all the time.

The easiest thing I've found to do is check the markets and see what sells for decent and farm it. I've been doing that with a certain item for the past two days and made about 200k in 2 hours worth of farming. Fortunately for me these mobs are not over camped so maybe I'm just lucky.

That's the nature of the MMO. People who focus on crafting, farming and studying the market will have way better opportunity than people who just want to play the game like it's Diablo. Well, this isn't Diablo. You can't just play some dungeons and expect plenty of money to flow in. You have to work for it. You can level any craft to 15 in like 30 minutes or less. There are quite a few crafts at those low levels that can make some ok gil. If you say you don't want to do it, fine. But don't expect gil to be flying in from everywhere either.

Even still, if you don't craft or gather, you can still farm. Gather those items that the crafters don't want to farm for themselves. It seems like every major skin is worth a good bit. Go kill some raptors. There's also the option of just buying items from NPCs and reselling them for a profit on the market. I make about 50k a day simply reselling items I purchased from NPCs.

Yeah you can call me ignorant all you want, or people who "don't want to do" whatever makes decent money, but that's their fault. Sometimes you don't always get to do what you want 100%, so if gathering is boring to you, either suck it up to make some money and then take a break from it for awhile or don't do it and choose another avenue. Go kill stuff for fleece, snurble tufts, diremite thread, etc. etc., or run CM and buy coke/animal fat/etc. to sell for 40-50k per every second CM run. That's potentially 75k an hour right there. Just tired of people complaining for what essentially amounts to them either being lazy or not even trying to understand how to make money, and then coming here to complain that the game is fundamentally flawed when it is actually their own deficiency.

People say this all the time... but as long as I'm rich, why do I care if my money came from other players and not from the game?

Rich people don't get rich or stay rich by spending all their money. I have turned into a cheap bastard, in game, as of recently, and it's paying off. I don't get from point a to point b as fast as possible, and I rarely have BIS items, but I'm sitting on a growing purse.

I've been using my GC seals for all my gear, riding my own mount wherever I go, and only teleporting to places set as favorites, and only when I plan on being there long enough to recoup the money spent getting there.

It's not rocket science, it's budgeting.

    1) If you don't have time to play. Don't play MMOs (Or go play WoW). The complexity of MMOs has dropped significantly because people like you think you should have access to the entire game with minimal effort, or worse, doing only the stuff you like. You get what you work for.

    2) If you're a dungeon runner and that's all you care about, there's several great single player RPGs that are basically the same thing, but better. Dark Souls is plenty hard if mean boss fights make you randy.

Bottom line. In a year, or 2 years. I still want to be working towards something. Maybe even my Relic +1 (college slows me down). I do not want to be on another rollercoaster (WoW) where the only thing worth doing is farming the latest raid to come out, only to replace it in 3-5 months, because everything else is handed to me on a welfare system, with worthless crafting skills that provide no real benefit.

If you don't like having to put extra work in, quit. Go. This isn't the game for you. Stop coming here in droves and driving every new MMO to come out intp obscurity because in 6 months you've achieved everything.

You assume that all players have the time to dedicate to doing so. There are those who cannot do so. Not everyone has the time to dedicate to doing all of that. You cannot expect people to do everything, if they do not posses the ability to do so.

And again, and this is something all of you who say "go craft/gather/farm" seem to fail at understanding, if everyone does plays the MB, then NO ONE WILL MAKE MONEY IN THIS GAME! It's easy enough to make money by selling for way less then the obvious RMTs on the MB, but if everyone starts crafting/gathering/farming and selling on MB, guess what, now the entire server is competing against one another, and then no one is buying, meaning that no one is making any money. And then we ALL have the same problem.
