It's not that hard if you know what you're doing. This is all from fishing btw.

Even the guy who made this game stated it's hard for players to acquire gil generally (which means the general population has an issue with it) - Also you're not on a legacy world where the problem is more apparent.

I don't craft, I don't gather, let me play the game the way I want.
and Yoshi said so himself, he's working on this issue.
It SHOULD be hard to make money or else it devalues it. Even now there is nothing I really want to spend money on. I've considered buying full i70 crafted HQ gear with materia, but I know if I drop 1.5 mil on it all it can just get replaced quickly with Relic armor and Coil drops. Housing comes out for FC next patch and I don't know how much I really want to "donate" my money to everyone else. I'd buy my own house maybe but who knows when that will be or the benefits of it.
Even if you make a few thousand a day that's probably enough to live on in this game really.

Cant speak for endgame content as I have yet to reach there. But as a level 30 whm I have almost 50k, and I have yet to sell anything on AH. Ive even spent 10k lastnight buying gear from an npc I failed to realize I already had in armory chest. I dont really see getting money as to difficult in comparison to ffxi quest gil rewards. Hell my friend is also level 30 and has a little over 60k without AHing stuff

You fail to acknowledge the bigger picture. That money will trade hands at some point in some way, all while new gil is being generated from more players. If you want gil you earn gil, not everything in this game will be handed to you willy nilly.

The problem here is, too many people are focused on one simple answer, "do crafting/gathering and make money". Not everyone wants to spend their time doing so. And we all need to accept that. Just telling people to go craft/gather instead of complaining, helps no one. in fact, it would be a hindrance in the long run to have everyone crafting/gathering. Instead, lets understand the actual issue, instead of just trying to force things upon those who don't want it.
For those having gil issues, you need to learn to manage your money better. stop teleporting everywhere, walk or take a chocobo. Stop buying complete sets of armor, only to find them rendered useless by dungeon drops, etc. Just like balancing a bank account in real life, you need to learn how to manage your gil in game.
Don't want to work crafting or gathering? Then don't whine about not having money. There are ways to make money by killing things too, but you need to not be totally lazy and understand what materials are worth a lot for crafters. The entire economy right now is dictated by what crafters need, so learn it and play the market.

This is simply being ignorant.
I have no issue gathering and crafting myself, as I enjoy it, but there are others that cannot dedicate the time to doing so. There are also players that do not find those classes enjoyable. Just because we have no issues doing it, doesn't mean others should feel the same way.
Again, instead of trying to force others to do what you do, how about instead recognize the issue that they have, and as i did, suggest ways to help them better manage the gil the have.
My highest class is lv39 and I'm working on a mil. I'm making so much money that I have no clue what to do with it. How do you NOT make gil in this game? What are you doing?
