Or make bait from the fish you catch?
Leves don't "give very little gil," they "give gil." That's the aspect to this you may be missing. If you did leves while leveling, while crafting, and while gathering, then you should be shovelling it onto your retainers for storage. I'm merely depleted of my leve income from pushing GSM and MIN up and procuring materials to help my FC make gear. But I barely had to touch my leveling income from my main job, nor have I liquidated more than 30k from picking up only the coins from quest rewards. There is a lot of open accessible methods of making money in this game, keeping the economy strong by keeping the money moving. You don't have to amass all the moneys, as that is some rather idiotic bad economic perspective; you just need to have a nice amount that you invest into product to then sell, making it back, and keeping things aflow. Use your effing brains, man!
In other mmos, trash mobs drop sellable items
I'd rather just kill mobs tbh. All that time I have to spend leveling a crafting class/job I would rather spend what I prefer to do is heal people in group content. At 14k gil now after starting my relic weapon and going down since doing dungeons seems to not make enough to even cover that. Guess I will have to spend time slowly slogging through leves for a pittance of gil soon. It's no wonder those RMT organizations are so popular...
Yeah not to mention that many players have no interest in crafting and suchI'd rather just kill mobs tbh. gil drops and rewards from dungeons need to be raised to a profitable level.
Fate gil rewards need to be raised to a profitable level.
All quests should give gil.
ALL items should have their sell price significantly raised.
at the rate things are going and the cost of repair and travel and gear and items
players will eventually run out of coin and the economy and playerbase will die.

i have noticed it is kinda hard to make gil, not super hard.
But than again i have noticed that you dont really need gil for this game like other MMO's. You get most everything through dungeons, leves, fates, hestes, quests and many other ways, the only real thing i see that you would need gil for in this game is for when the housing system comes out.
Yes and expect RMT advertisements to quadruplei have noticed it is kinda hard to make gil, not super hard.

For those people who don't want to craft and gather, Materia is actually a solid idea. Put on a set of trash gear for the trash mobs to spirit bond and then sell them for lots of gil as materia. Then equip your good gear for the bosses.
