300k is nothing spread across 1000 people, don't kid yourself.
How is the lack of people creating new characters evidence enough? Please explain.

If you are specifically talking about personal wealth and not the server economy, then no, 300 gil is not alot. However, I've put maybe 2 hours total into farming some mats from monsters and made 10k+ on the market. Within a day. I didn't even try hard. Making money does not seem difficult to me in this game. Just have to do a little work for it.

i spent 234k in an instant to get my hq gear for botany, hq economy is pretty fucked, and it would take me over a week just to make that money back at this rate

So solution is to go to low level zones as a 50 and farm mobs since the higher ones + instances generally drop nothing at all. I really don't think they want us to grief low level zones that way but hey; desperate times require despicable practices right?

The only problem with that is that I'm fairly sure the vast majority of money circulates through the marketboard with a double tax on buyer/seller. I'd wager that that gil sink alone probably leads to a net decrease in the world economy.

Not trying to be mean here but so what...? You wanted HQ gear and decided to pay for it. I guess you 'll have to go make more gils.

Problem with this is you have no evidence that this is the case. People are QQing because they are going broke. Then they make the leap that because they're broke, the server must be broke too.

Farming works. I went and spent 45 minutes today and farmed toadskins. Another person was doing it too.

When a lower level showed up, I left so he could level up on those mobs w/o me killing them.

In 45 minutes I got 40 NQ toadskins and 2 HQ skins. Just what I needed.

So keep running dungeons until you're broke. Play how you want and I will play how I want.

Does no one understand the mentality of crafting? I have not read any guides yet. But almost all guides mention vendoring stuff. You make 100 swords there are already 500 on the ah "poof" vendored magic gil. Why can't people just be honest and say Dungeon runners are not happy with the plus minus of that content.

You guys aren't even accounting for all the gathering, I watched the same 10 people mine the same 4 nodes for 3 hours while i watched the denver game. Not including the 2 bots that were mining faster then all of us. When the ah gets to full vendored "poof" magic gil.

None of this involves combat classes though. So lets just be honest combat is not self sufficient. If they choose to make it that way fine. They might as well just eliminate repair fees for anyone running end game content. Because that would be just as easy as adding gil.

There is plenty of influx in the market.

Fighters can spend money on cheap equipment sellable in markets to spirit bond meterial while doing leves, making a profit off of the leves along, even after repairs, and a further profit by selling the spirit bond meteria back to crafters.

Gathers make a continual small time profit providing meterials for repairs, crafting, and melding while having capability of self-providing mats for crafting.

Crafters can do repairs at a fraction of cost to NPC repairs, make money off of crafted items, usable and otherwise. Provide gear for Meterial Melding, sell melded meteria for those working towards engame gear. Later on, it has been said that drafts dropped from dungeons will require crafting to get some of the best gear.

So yes, there is an economy on paper here. Players just have yet to realize it and are like Bart Simpson with the cupcake.

Really? Do you know you can get over 6k gil from a single leve allowance? I don't consider that basic. 36k new gil per person per day is possible, that's not exactly chump change.

Just because all you see is battle Leve rewards doesn't mean there are not better more rewarding gil returns in other areas of the game.

It's a matter of time and perspective. Myself, I've made 35k gil in the last three days without ever doing a levequest above 20 (and only one of them). My highest level is 27, and I didn't do a single regular quest.

Thats 35k profit, not counting the 5 dungeons, repairs, or the 4k gil I used to buy things off the market in order to make that 35k. I know that's not ginormous amounts of gil or anything, but I'm certainly not hurting for anything at all. Now, I'll have to spend a few hours re-upping my supply of mats to craft some more, but that's incidental.
