Please tell me the auto-login "feature" is only temporary

It is really a sad state of affairs when the only defense people can come up with is to fling childish insults at anyone who opposes their view.

It is a sad state of affairs that grown people are complaining that they have to log back into a game, when they have been away from it for 30 minutes or more.

How entitled do you have to be to demand this?
What reason do you need to be logged in while not there or doing anything?
How selfish are you demand so much afk server load?
How dumb are you guys if you still don't realise there is a very simple work around if it bothers you this much?
How are you still not aware of the 'search function' in these forums, to the point where you feel the need to start your own thread on the topic to whinge about it, instead of just joining on of the several others, on the same topic?

The maturity of posts on this forum is astounding. "oh, he has a legitimate complaint about a feature that didn't need to be implemented, he must be butthurt!"

And allow me to qualify my first statement a little more: Most, or nearly all, MMOs do not force you to log out after a period of inactivity. I'm sure there are a few that do, but I haven't played them. I've played many MMOs in my days, none of which had a forced auto-logout timer.

Except you have yet to make a legitimate complaint. A complaint, sure, but you have yet to back up your rants with why this feature is bad for the game.

The only 'issue' I can see is if you plan on afk-ing while in queue for DF, and if you're doing that it would imply you're going to be nearby to accept the queue once it pops. Thus, hitting a single key once every 29 minutes is not difficult. If the game logs you out under any other circumstance? You spend 15 seconds logging back in and continue playing.

I can log back in 100% without any errors or problems now, literally no reason for an AFK log out timer. Why was this added? It's just an annoyance I don't need now.

Because your convenience is the center of everyone's priorities. Just friggin play for crying out loud...

Bull! WoW always had an afk logout. So did LotRO. Didnt play the rest but judging from the lie you just tried to pass off id bet youre wrong on the others as well. Not that itd matter anyway. Save for WoW and LotRO (and maybe FFXI) the rest are crap games who could probably serve their entire population off an iphone.

If you dont want childish insults, stop acting like a child! Getting kicked for being AFK is a perfectly reasonable time. Specially when all you have to do is take a minute to log back in. You want to know who whines about having to do something that takes less than a minute? Children! Very, very, small entitled children with a very small tolerance for discomfort and a really high demand for instant gratification.

An adult is much more likely to realize the pointlessness of arguing against something that would inconvenience them, occasionally, for less than a minute at a time. An adult would realize there must be a reason so many developers do it. An adult sees that maybe, just maybe, the game will be going on sale again soon, increasing the possibilty of server congestion happening, yet again. A problem made worse by people who refused to log out. so please grow up.

Do you realize how contradictory you are OP? If the servers are "fine" and there's no issues with full worlds and not being able to log in due to people AFKing for days at a time... then why are you worried about the AFK timer? If you "step away" for an hour and get logged out, then you can just log right back in when you come back. What benefit does getting rid of the timer provide? None. But HAVING it does provide a significant benefit of allowing others to play the game when servers are filled with AFK d-bags.

Oh so glad someone called out this BS post. If we are to allow games like Maplestory and Vindictus as evidence then you know your argument is weak. Most MMOs that this game is modeled after have AFK timers. If you're gone for more then 30, then yeah you should be kicked.

But I afk waiting for a timer- craft. Press w on your key board once in a while. How are you that lazy this is a legitimate problem in your eyes?

I hope this is permanent. If you aren't playing, then you shouldn't be logged in. You clearly feel differently, but it seems like the devs have sided against you for now.
