I think 30mins is a little too short, maybe it could be increased a little to between 1 to 2hrs. Anything more really means you are doing something else as top priority at the moment.

Yes, it's so IMMERSIVE to have an army of people gone for the day standing around at an Aetheryte set to away...

I'm not sure what the issue is. 30 minutes is loads of time to do something and come back. If you are away for more then that long, you have more important things to do than complain about spending at extra few seconds to log back in. Because otherwise you are just increasing server load because you are lazy. However, if this timer is based only on character activity like movement, there will be issues.
They need to fix it to where if you are sitting around and chatting or looking at your logs then they should not kick you, another words they need to make it to where it tracks certain things such as utilizing the chat box.
Does it even work? was making dinner today and was afk for more then 30 min expecting to be logged off when I came back but I was still there. Does the afk log off timer not work when you have duty finder active?
Now that the server login issues seem to be fixed, I don't really care if there is an auto-logout or not.

30 minutes is a fair amount of time. An hour would be too long imo.

I think the AFK auto-kick feature was a smart move on SE's part as the pros vastly outweigh the cons. I would much rather have shorter/no queue times than having the ability to stay logged on for an indefinite amount of time. I do agree with those that say the timer could be extended only because Duty Finder queues can take upwards of an hour.
There are 2 things I just don't understand with some of the comments here:
1) If I'm doing it whilst waiting for the duty finder, surely you have to check on a semi regular basis which allows you to move or jump?
2) If I'm doing nothing at all, what possible benefit do I get from being logged in?
I really am struggling to see an instance where I personally would be away from my keyboard for 30 minutes if I was playing. I don't see a negatitve to it other than maybe having to relog in. I would say thats a minor annoyance rather than a major issue.
On the positive side, this helps:
1) People that want to play now log in
2) Improve server stability/lag
I've yet to see a cohesive arguement of why the negatives outway the positives for the collective group as of yet. It seems that all the negatives are very specific to specific individuals.
well see if you wanna talk about how it improves your server i think you might wanna get better servers because if they can't handle a few afk people they surely won't handle un afk people. There are 2 things I just don't understand with some of the comments here:

secondly there has been very little issues with logging in since the first maint to increase everything.
now when it comes to benefits why does it have to benefit anyone? this is just a game we want to play it we want to log on. we want to have fun, and we want to play our way.
it's all wants, people wanted a afk kicked and now we have it, so the people who didn't want it are now showing how unhappy they are with something they don't want.
in the end it's not really a argument about which is better but about which group is bigger, course i don't see se removing it after adding it, at most maybe giving the ability to do something like increase it or maybe even choose to turn it off eventually, course or they could do nothing only time will tell, but in the end it being better or not is ones own personal choice and there is no good reason for or not for it.
