Oh so glad someone called out this BS post. If we are to allow games like Maplestory and Vindictus as evidence then you know your argument is weak. Most MMOs that this game is modeled after have AFK timers. If you're gone for more then 30, then yeah you should be kicked.

But I afk waiting for a timer- craft. Press w on your key board once in a while. How are you that lazy this is a legitimate problem in your eyes?

I hope this is permanent. If you aren't playing, then you shouldn't be logged in. You clearly feel differently, but it seems like the devs have sided against you for now.

It is really a sad state of affairs when the only defense people can come up with is to fling childish insults at anyone who opposes their view.

Bull! WoW always had an afk logout. So did LotRO. Didnt play the rest but judging from the lie you just tried to pass off id bet youre wrong on the others as well. Not that itd matter anyway. Save for WoW and LotRO (and maybe FFXI) the rest are crap games who could probably serve their entire population off an iphone.

If you dont want childish insults, stop acting like a child! Getting kicked for being AFK is a perfectly reasonable time. Specially when all you have to do is take a minute to log back in. You want to know who whines about having to do something that takes less than a minute? Children! Very, very, small entitled children with a very small tolerance for discomfort and a really high demand for instant gratification.

An adult is much more likely to realize the pointlessness of arguing against something that would inconvenience them, occasionally, for less than a minute at a time. An adult would realize there must be a reason so many developers do it. An adult sees that maybe, just maybe, the game will be going on sale again soon, increasing the possibilty of server congestion happening, yet again. A problem made worse by people who refused to log out. so please grow up.

I still don't see the issue with this. If you afk for 30 minutes....just log back in? This is FFXI where you need to bazaar something for 24 hours straight. The queues have been lax, if even an issue now so this shouldn't be an issue. Suck it up, buttercup.

Again, I shoulldn't even ahve to "just log back in." There are no login issues, havent been since the last maintenance. There was no reason to put this feature in to begin with. The requests for this were being made when there was a genuine problem, but that problem has gone away, and thus so has the need for this feature. I will NOT suck it up. People QQe'd loudly to get this put in, but it's no longer needed and I will QQ loudly to get it taken out.

You may forget, many of us came from FFXI, a game that let you stay logged on as long as you want (and many people had good reasons to, for bazaaring0. This was NEVER an issue in that game, and won't be an issue here with servers with proper capacity and sufficient number. If they had enough worlds from day 1, this would never have been implemented, nor would anyone have complained about it. Now we have to deal with this annoyance, purely because people are whiny and don't understand how servers work, combined with SE's faliure to provide enough capacity at launch.

TL;DR: The issue with this is it's a "feature" that is tying to solve a problem that more or less doesn't exist anymore.

WoW absolutely DOES log you out automatically... Some people complain a lot.

I hope its perminant. Now maybe I can logout without worrying about not being able to login after coming home from work.
