Actually honey, it's heaven-sent to me. During JP primetime I have issues with r0 and 90000. At least with the afk timer I stand a much better chance of getting back in instead of constant 1017 because of people staying logged in as they sleep or go to work.Congratulations, week-one complainers! You cried and cried and cried about the login queues. You demanded an AFK timer. Now you've got one! Isn't progress great?
Login queues were addressed well with the initial datacenter expansion. The biggest problem since then has been gil sellers.
Dev cycles don't respond instantly to your concerns, so instead of a right-click/blacklist button or some kind of effective anti-spam heuristics, you get an AFK timer.
Enjoy it. I hope it's everything you dreamed of.
Pretty much exactly this. People complained for an AFK timer and now that its finally here, they complain that it's being implemented. Derp?Congratulations, week-one complainers! I dont see the problem. How long does it take too log back in now ? Anyway it`s also for unnecessary load on the servers. There can be many unexpected circumstances that could pull you away from your computer for 30 minutes or more, making this timer ridiculously short. Login issues mostly went away after the last big maintenance, so why did they still feel the need to put this in? People aren't really staying logged in just to keep a spot on the server anymore, because it hasn't been necessary.
Please, remove this needless feature once the worlds are stable , or make it on by default but optional in the configuration. If you don't, people are going to make keyboard macros and stuff to circumvent it, so it's pointless anyway.

You can always just...you know...log back in.
Just make a jump macro! G510 keyboard, Razer Naga FTW!
Please don't encourage people to do this.
The chances are high that they will:
a. be considered a botter by a player and reported to GM who, when trying to engage them in conversation will see also that they are afk and likely consider them to be botting.
b. be considered a botter by a gm and lose their account.
All the while gillspamshout rmt's are not getting the attention of that GM.
A note to OP, the message said that the afk auto kick will be in force during times where there are login restrictions in place. Perhaps this means that when no login restrictions are in place, it will be removed.

Hai! I'm Vahl, in ur mmorpgs, sort'n my inventory and putt'n 2 many H's in my name since FFXI..FFXIV Inventory Tetris Champ
If you are not playing the game you should log out, you also do not leave the tap running when you leave the bathroom when you know you will be back to wash your hands later. The only complain about auto-kick is how late it was implemented.
everyone asked for it countless post about there needing to be an afk. people need to make up their mind and really if you have to go away for untold amount of time when you don't know when your going to be back then log out so what it logs you out after 30 min of not being at your computer i guess its really hard to log back in huh?

I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.
