If you take your time with the game, find some good friends, don't constantly rush to cap level, you'll never run out of things to do.

Don't get me wrong, the game still lacks a lot. But I wouldn't say content, cuz we have:

Regional and local levequests - every 36 hours
    Behests - every 30 minutes
    Guilds Tasks - every day
20 mid-level NMs, perfect for when you reach rank25-30 in some class, and join some friends to get better equipment
Main quests - every other level and although very easy, the story and cutscenes are very good
Class quests - every other rank for every class
Sidequests - very well written and fun to do when you wanna take a break from the rest

The only thing we're missing is a dungeon. And all the other modes FFXI had cuz of its multiple expansions.

To me, the only problem with this game is that levequests became its core - the center of levelling, when it shouldn't be. They should be aimed for more casual playing. So, if you're aiming to get to level cap as quick as possible, you'll only do levequests/behests and come back whining about how there's no content. If you want an MMO to play with ur friends and have fun, ull find plenty to do.
in other words play maybe an hour a day and never do leves with your friends = not rushing to cap and running out of things to do. you do realize that even though i only have a very small group(5 counting me) i do leves with and never grind battle at all it is very easy to get multiple 50's easily right?

this game severely is missing content. it only has enough content for you if you solo everything and do nothing in game.

I play more than 1 hour a day and do leves all the time with friends and I'm not bored with the game yet. I'm still hunting NMs for drops, doing the higher rank ones with my LS, doing leves with my friends, ranking up crafting and gathering at the moment. I consider myself to be taking my time as well as I'm not rushing to cap on anything. Yeah I have 1 class to 50 and I'm content with that for now.

Atm I would say the game is mainly character progression atm, considering you need multiple classes leveled up really high to truly build a job. This is definitely not the game atm that will throw content at you the every step of the way.

Have to like making your character as strong as it can get and like leveling or yea. If you do not like leveling and maximizing your character then there is no reason to level... yet anyways.

OP, just enjoy the game like many have said. I play 40-60 hours a week probably, and still find the game fun and always something to do. Its all in your Friends/LS that makes this game fun. Be sure you find a group or multiple groups of friends to share experiences with. Also most important, don't RUSH the game, enjoy every part of it as you gain ranks, fight things etc. The most SP isn't always the most fun way. So don't be the guys who think SP, SP, SP and only SP... Those guys burn out and leave the game. Think about exploring, fighting mobs that are uncommon, going to new areas, experiments and maybe finding new/better ways to do things. There is so much to the game that 80% of the people who quit didn't even do.

My personal opinion on the game: Play it, but don't rush it

oh i'm not bored with it either, but just meant that in general. i can see why alot have gotten bored in game. me personally i see the finish line on multiple classes and have other goals i set for myself to reach so i still have things to do, but they are self made content for me to do not the game enforcing them on me. i have actually gotten bored with the nm's, expecially the high ones, it only took douing/3man the dodore and gob pre-nerf joke then to see how pathetic they are afterwards to get bored with them.

i just think i am starting to hit the wall that alot of others hit way before me in that after doing things so many times they are more like work than an enjoyable experience at this point. i hate it too because i really do want this game to be great which is why i bought this one and not xi.

i love the route tanaka was taking this game as in away from the other mmo's, but hate that yoshi is going right back to it. i got the game because i love the armory system and the possibilities it has, but due to poor implementation and a massive group takeover that system, that could be great, is being destroyed. i did not get xi due to i am not a fan of the subjob system no more than i am a fan of the wow trees.

I honestly don't do NM's very much... I mostly just enjoy partying with friends and killing mobs for the heck of it. Its more about the community than anything else. But somehow I find myself never without something to do in the game. If you look at grinding as a bad thing, you may not like this game. But If you don't put in work, you'll never progress. Its just like real life, you work towards goals, and when you get near them, you re-assess the goals and make new ones. Always having something to strive for. When you have friends that also share in these goals, it only makes the game that much more fun.

I actually started playing more recently cuz I got in a very good LS, so I play around 6-7 hours a day and do leves with my LS (in a party of 5) each reset.

We're just taking our time, we love to explore and get the aetherial nodes, crafting or even spend a day NM hunting or glitching Ul'Dah xD And I'm not saying that its not easy to get to 50, cuz it is. I'm just saying that if you get a good group of ppl, u'll always find some enjoyment in this game.

But I understand your point of view. But, as I say, I don't believe its lacking content - just goals for the players to achieve like you said (which technically can be viewed as content I guess XD)

I play FFXI. I know all about grinding. Thing is in that game I have endless goals to reach and things to see, but not in this one. I can grind classes to 50 for what? Make millions of gil for what? Explore what? There's just nothing there right now. In FFXI I grind to 18 to unlock subjobs, 20 to unlock my chocobo/do garrison, 25 to do eco warrior, 30 to unlock my advanced jobs/start CoP, 40 to do missions up to rank 5/get airship access/run BCNM bosses, 50 to break the level cap/do campaign, 60 to get my AF armor/pvp/start zilart missions/get rank 6, 65 to unlock Dynamis/Sky access, and 75 for basically everything else. I can keep going because I know the further I go the more new and exciting shit awaits me. What can I grind for in XIV? To slay a few NMs for a lame reward? Then what? Can't even do leves in Mor Dhona.

MMOs are only great when you have a bunch of friends to play with, but they'll all quit if there's nothing to do in the game.

i completely agree it's the group of people i have made friends with, whether it is my ls mates or others i have met in game, that make the game enjoyable. i went and got the chance to meet a few of my ls mates this past weekend. they are awesome people. we met up and went out and had dinner and played at the casinoes a few hours.
