i can see why you think hes just an angry man, but i really havent heard much about most of the things they said they were working on before, and some things seem like they are going in the opposite direction. They may come later, but in his plans he didnt mention most of those things anymore.

-he delayed the companies because they where ready, but not the content for it. Basicly there wasn't nothing to do. This count housing and ships.
-he said hamlet defence is still in the to-do, but with a different name
-he said sooner or later pvp will appear, but not in the open.
He can't be very vocal on things not ready, but read aroun d and you'll see nothing has been canned

Great, let's just wait indefinitely for FFXIV to be the game it isn't even setting out to be.we don't know much of that, but:

In the meanwhile, people will try out TERA, GW2, and ArcheAge and realise that those games offer much more interesting and novel features, and FFXIV will suffer for postponing their good ideas in favour of implementing stupid ones.
Ok, then why are you still here? BTW I'm not waiting for any of those games, so speak for yourself.Great, let's just wait indefinitely for FFXIV to be the game it isn't even setting out to be.

Because TERA and GW2 are still under development, and out there there's not any interesting MMORPG out of this one, which will be the same situation as when TERA wil be released, judging by the release of Rift.
Just personal suggestion, nothing more =)

TERA is not really under much development, it gets a few tweaks here and there but its just released a massive update which involves new zones and events and dungeons (it was release 25th January Korean). It is sad that Se, almost 7 months still have not released any worthwhile content or new areas and still we are waiting until the 8th month for 1 dungeon? or Dungeons, yet TERA on the other hand can dish out a few dungeons + new areas + flying mounts + new story in 3 months =D Not to mention an expansion pack coming out End of Summer lol And it hasnt even hit US/EU soil!
Both TERA and GW2 will steal a lot of XIV's face. I think XIV will have the same routine as XI and not be popular until 3-4 years in.
I never said I was waiting for them either. I said that people will try them out. And so they will. And they will realise when they do that FFXIV lacks so much, with the promise of so little in the future.
The new thing called companies isnt like a the old, basically before they said there were going to be larger companies that may contain multiple LS, where you had some sort of shared things, and goals, but now companies seem to be more about plot, and probably an over arching storyline, looks like grand companies are going to be something like how bastok wind and sandoria had their own stories you could be involved in, that lead to certain places.we don't know much of that, but:

hamlet defenses they said will be scrapped, but they may have you protecting some different areas, but they also said they may not. It may be that these quest hubs/settlements was what they meant by saying they have something different planned now.
