Steel Peak and Howling Fist. One is a strong stun, the other a strong line AoE. Both off GCD.Currently deciding between dragoon and monk (will get both classes relatively high regardless due to mantra and blood for blood being really good cross class abilities). My questions are mainly if monk has a bunch of off GCD abilities like dragoon. Dragoons get a ton of abilities that do high damage that aren't on the GCD that they can weave into their rotation. Do monks get something similar?
Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but to me it seems Dragoons do significantly more DPS than Monks. Monks attack 15% faster sure, but from videos I see, Dragoons are doing well over 15% more damage per hit. Dragoon auto attacks seem to be in the 130-150 range while Monks seem to be in the 100ish range. Dragoons have much higher potency on their abilities and the DoTs are similar in overall potency, so I just don't see it. Dragoon off-GCD abilities seem to have much higher potency as well.
Can someone please point out what I might be missing?
yeah you missed something a mong get nerly permanent 36% more dmg and the enemy 10% lesser resistence + he can take dragoons eye for eye so he gain 56% dmg 15% more speed and he crits with nearly every hitMaybe I'm just not seeing it, but to me it seems Dragoons do significantly more DPS than Monks. Right, but Dragoons get a damage buff and debuff as well, so a Monk really only get a constant +26% more than Dragoons, which is still significant, but from what I've seen, not enough to overcome the low potency of Monk weapons. I could be wrong though, I might be underestimating the 15% attack speed. Monks are undeniably the best for Limit Breaks though due to damage buff stacking unless Final Heaven does less base damage than Omnislash.
yeah you underrestimate the speed i have a attack speed of 2,09 at my skills and i got not even attack speed gear my crits are 200(every hit of this is a crit after i use my full combo one time) on my normal spell (130potency) + 70(110 crit) auto attack // 220 true strike(150 potancy) 70(110 crit) auto attack// 280 snap punch (180 potency) + 70(110 auto attack) yep with every skill comes an auto attack and after the forth it cames between the skills because my auto attack ist faster too there is demolich and hand of death i dont know but i think they tick every 2 secs with 50 together so to my auto attack of 70-110 comes 50 dot dmg im lvl 42 with crap gear ^^ dragoons on my lvl crit for 300+- with the 3rd combo skill but they are much slower , somethimes i crit with 5 to 8 skills and autohits in a row but that isn`t good for me because i get aggro :P

Actually DRG is less DPS then Monk but quite a margin. Dragoon offers burst damage. he doesn't need to build momentum, but when monk pulls momentum no one can reach his single target dps.
Tha0'ts what you get for playing easy mode.
PS. At 50 Monk GCD is less then 1 second <![]()
